last time i went was about 15... but i really wanted to every year since then, but none of my friends would... :(

I went trick or treating last year and I'm 26...I dressed up as Lon Chaney's Wolfman and took my friend and her niece with me.
I think you should stop at 12 and then at 15-18 you should dress up sexy
once your over 15, its time to start getting drunk on halloween. not walking around with babies asking your neighbors for tootsie rolls.

i like scaring people but i ALSO like getting free candy. i have a few good costume ideas left...
Any age over 16 just bring your cousin or niece with you so you get the fun of dressing up but don't have the feeling of "i'm getting too old for this".
I would say as long as you can get away with getting free unlaced candies! Knock and see if it works out for you... age 7 or 77!
I've always looked older than I really am, because of my height and nature. When I was 11, I looked 16. Once upon a time I went out for trick or treating with a few friends my age, as well as our parents, and we came across this house belonging to an angry fat man. When my bag came around to his chubby fingers giving out the goods, he said, "Yeah uh... I think you're a little too old for this here stuff don'tcha think? Kind of getting pathetic at your age!" And then closed the door.
EVER SINCE THAT FATEFUL DAY... I no longer trick or treat. But you know what? FUCK HIM. I'll just get drunk and/or dress up in crazy costumes and go T-hopping the entire night like half the other population of college kids do in Boston.

That's the asshole who's house you TP with your friends that year, egg at random during drive-bys for about 6-8 weeks afterward, and then egg-nog Molotov cocktail as a winter holiday treat (same treatment for his car/s). Make sure you're dressed in a non-identity revealing costume all 3 times (the same costume is acceptable, even encouraged) so you're not recognized("who is in that costume?"), but *are* recognized ("Fucking Cookie Monster!" as you doughnut in his lawn and drive off, striking him square in his fat face with an onslaught of rotten eggs so copious he'll be forced to breathe in some of it and retch, having caught a hint/whiff of his traumatizing-of-kids ignorant attitude. Btw, if adults like your parents and other parents were around, they should have (and I would have) gone back up to the door and rung the bell, then said to him, "Excuse me, my child is 11. I am aware she is an early bloomer, so she may look older, but she is 11, and still a child - a child who you just insulted with your ignorance and to whom you owe an apology, right now." Then he should grovel and beg your forgiveness, tell you how insensitive and stupid he is and how he's sorry he was mean, give you the rest of the candy and slip the adults some beer and cash and hope it's enough to bribe us, as we would allow him to do because of our good nature, to not make his life a living hell.
Was that the same "angry fat man" who wouldn't give me candy when I was 7-ish? Yeah, he said I was too fat. >< Like angry fat men have a right to decide who's "fat". Ruined half of my night. Bast*rd!

well im still dressing up and going to partys but i dont go trick or treating.
Halloween is the only time when it is acceptable to take candy from strangers. I'd love to trick-or-treat again, but I'm afraid parties have been tying up my Halloween evenings ever since 9th grade. Durr

Yep, once you turn 15 it's time to hang up the costume forever and go to one of those dumb parties with the rest of the drunken idiots and slutty girls dressed like hooker witches. I would rather trick or treat forever. This sucks, man. Damn hooker witches ruining all the fun.
I believe I stopped at 10, maybe 11. I was always ahead of my time, and sometimes I miss it. It's time to stop when you yourself feel stupid. You probably have a Peter Pan complex at some point though, I think 16 defines that point.
The last time I went trick-or-treating I was maybe 17...it was really awkward. But I have a toddler so I guess I'll be starting again.
I go to halloween Parties EVERY HALLOWEEN SCREW TRICK-OR-TREATING!!!!

I love meeting the youngsters when I go out. Usually their parents don't like it, but sometimes I invite them over for a snack.
Then again, I like little kids.

Actually, I feel like when people are 18-20, they stop trick or treating and go to scare people, go to Halloween parties with your friends, blah blah blah.
parties are fun, and just hanging out, going to the mall in costume's fun too.

I stopped when i was 6 because my brother didn't want to do it any more because he was 17.
I never trick or treated but I bet I still could have done it at the age of 16/17 cuz i look really young
I stopped at 14 and cuddled with my bf while we watched movie. We both wished we went trick or treating tho lol. Small town are cool with older kids getting candy.
Depends. I'm 18 and a little embarrassed to trick or treat alone. So I go with some crazy friends or take my little brother and take the candy he doesn't like.
i'm 18 and a still went trick-or-treating last year. but it's only fun when you're with friends who are as enthusiastic as you are.
I never got to trick-or-treat as a kid. Now I would find it pointless. I did miss a lot of wonderful things most kids get to experience though :(
My friends and I started going around scaring people at 15. We would still trick or treat for the free candy, but also throw fire crackers at people we saw.
