Afraid of eye correction

Is it normal to be afraid of getting my eyes corrected by lazer? I've seen a few videos of the surgery and that stuff is just scary. I'm also scared that if I ever do this, that my vision will end up being worst after certain years. Anyone else is feeling this way about getting their eye sight improved by lazer?

ACTUALLY, I was like you for a long time. I have a pretty strong contact lens prescription and I have been wearing corrective lenses since I was about 7 and now I'm 24. I wanted laser surgery, so I researched it online. The more research I did, the more PROOF I found out that laser eye surgery is a SCAM, it's pushed by doctors who are making a ton of money off of the procedure and the laser companies. TONS of people have horrible problems with this surgery, and nobody knows what happens in 20-50 years (or more). I could go on forever about it, but it's a total scam. Just use contacts, it's so much safer.

I see what you mean. My eyesight is about as good as a grandma's! I've contemplated getting Lasik eye surgery a lot but have not done so for a number of reasons. My teacher had made a good point awhile back: What if, after awhile, people that had the surgery, start developing conditions or sight getting worse because of it?

That's a very good point, so I think I'll wait a little bit just to make sure. Other than that though- I heard the surgery was pretty effective. No glasses or contacts!

I was too. I went in for a consult and saw that they cut a layer of your eye for it, I was freaked out. I decided I wasn't ready and a year later went back and had the surgery and have had nothing but great sight since.

Lasers do looks scary, but i'd imagine it's a pretty sucessful proceedure.
