Addicted to watching porn. is this normal?

When I got married a couple of years ago I thought I would watch a lot less porn. My wife and I enjoy an avid sex life. So I'm not deprived in that regard. And she's cool with me watching porn, but not cool with acting out some of the really weird shit I'd like to try with her. And I'd certainly not stab my baby in the back by sneaking out to bag some hooker in order to play out some porn scene from the internet. But this craving to watch perverted sex acts remains with me. I know there is help available for all types of addictions but I don't want help. I really want to stay a porn addict. Is this normal, or am I kind of fucked up?

    The real issue here isn't how much porn you watch, what type or whether or not you're addicted to it: the problem is that you want your partner to act out "really weird shit" she doesn't want to do.

    If you're pressuring her over this or even continually bringing it up, you are out of control sexually and you're not respecting her or your marriage.

    I suspect you're looking for responses telling you it's ok to pressure or force her into doing whatever you want and you'll probably get plenty of that type of crap advice from some of the weirdo's on here.

    You already have a good sex life with your wife: wanting more and more extreme acts is a sign of an addiction you're trying to impose on her.

      Okay number one: I do not pressure her to join me to either watch or do things that turn me on in porn videos. Not likely for me to say, for example: Hey hon, think it would turn you on if I piss in your mouth tonight? She is not even aware that I could even get aroused at that sort of thing. Number two: I was looking for some sort of positive response here telling me that, as my wife, she has a wifely duty to satisfy my every need. No matter what that need might be. So you are right in that regard. Number three: Right again in your statement, ". . . more and more extreme acts is a sign of an addiction" So yes, I am aware of my porn addiction. Just want to confirm that it's normal not to want to do anything about it. Are you some kind of sex consular? You're awfully adept in your knowledge of this sort of thing. You got two out of three spot on right with me. So I do thank you for bringing a bit of understanding of this addiction of mine. Rest assured I will discuss this with my baby. Maybe, I don't know.         Thanks for your kind words and as to being a sex counsellor, I guess I am in a way - I've worked on an adult sex line for about 6 years and a lot of that work is counselling. I have quite a few callers who reassure me at the end of the call that there's no way they'd do in real life what they've been doing with me over the phone. I do also have counselling qualifications but my training didn't include sex counselling.

        I'm sure there'll be someone who'll tell you about wifely duties to satisfy your every need, but it definitely won't be me, any more than I'd suggest a bloke has a husbandly duty to satisfy his wife's every need.

    I'm not against porn per se.

    But... too much porn and you will eventually suffer from 'Porn Fried Brain Syndrome', where you have to keep seeking more and more extreme porn to get the same thrill. It's like a drug addiction.

    Trouble is, extreme porn addiction can lead to having erectile dysfunction and too many soft-ons. And that can be messed up.

    Your addiction is fucked up. We perverts are careful not to take action on our desires, and we make an effort to always keep them at a fantasy level. Watching normal porn is fine but only watch the perverted stuff less than you want to to stay in control of yourself.
