A thought on tourette's syndrome

I'm not a doctor, I haven't even bothered to find out what modern medicine has to say about this, nor am I interested in you researching before responding. Let's emit our opinions just for it's own sake.

Do you believe there is a correlation between Tourette's syndrome and the enormous pressure imposed on young children to repress their natural reaction to their most intense displeases, namely, cursing?

  • Tourette's syndrome is not just cursing a lot. In fact that isn't even that common with the disorder. Tourettes's is a combination of verbal and physical tics. A tic in an involuntary action such as making weird vocal noises or twitching. Tourette's is also genetic.

I don't think so, I think Tourettes is more related to OCD in feeling you must do something involuntarily like touching things or making noises. most Tourettes people don't curse or yell obscenities but they do make noises and jerking motions a lot.

No. Tourette's is a neurological disorder, and it has nothing to do with social pressure. It also doesn't usually involve swearing.
