A strange case of deja vu?

I've just been wondering, does anyone else have dreams that seem somewhat like deja vu? But instead of feeling like you dreamt of it before, you feel like you actually, legitimately experienced that in real life (which usually turns out to be false, althought there are cases of which I'm not sure even now...)? I never seen any information on that anywhere on the internet, so I thought I'd ask. Is It Normal?

Yeah I get it all the time....It is really strange and I've even had this super weird moment that I still remember distinctively. I met this guy through a friend. He came over one night and was drinking with us. We sat at the table and just a few seconds before he said, "Do you believe in deja vu?" I was thinking "Omg...Deja vu." I told him that I was just thinking that right before he said it and he smiled and didn't say anything. Haven't seen the guy since but it still haunts me to this very day!

I have scary dreams where people move so quietly, still, whispering...It drives me nuts just thinking about it that I have to make some type of noise!!

I experience this. It's a random trigger. For example, during a conversation something will "click" and I'll know the word-for-word flow for the next few sentences or be somewhere and know precisely what's going to happen within the next 10 seconds or so. Some say it's a lag between the eyes where the brain processes information faster from one than the other so it seems like you've been there before. However, I'm completely blind in one eye. A tumor has grown on the optic nerve that's not even visibly attached to the back of my eye so that explanation makes zero sense for me.

I understand entirely. I have occasional dreams of being a US Special Forces Soldier fighting in random countries. It sounds odd, but it feels sooo real! The dreams continue a specific plot. I assume that it is my mind playing tricks on me, but I cannot explain me being able to know the life story of a character I don't even know. I even feel every thing from the gun all the way to the emotional pain of seeing a fellow US Soldier die.

I once watched a TV series and I knew exactly what was going to happen even before it happened in as much detail as if I had watched it before, but that would be impossible because it had never aired in my country.

...maybe I should make my own post for this.

  • If you knew what deja vu really was, you wouldn't even care.

So you dream of things you feel you have experienced in waking life, but haven't? Rationally, I'd say you are reliving some conscious experience that seems unfamiliar because it is disguised by unconscious symbols. But my supernatural side points to an alternate reality that is lived out and vaguely remembered in your dreams. Could be both, as if we do live in more than one reality I would certainly think they were connected to one another.

Hmm, the first point is probably true. I'm not a big fan of theories involving the supernatural, but I'm not completely writing them off. Thank you anyway. c:
