A large decrease in appetite...

Lately, I've had a huge decrease in appetite. I used to eat three meals a day, with a couple of small snacks in between. But nowadays, I can only manage one small meal a day. Sometimes even less than that. I know I'm not anorexic because any food I eat, I enjoy (but anorexics would be afraid of food). I only eat when I'm hungry, but I'm hardly ever hungry any more. I'm not a scrawny type of person, but I am a bit of the opposite. I don't feel sick or any other symptoms. Could this be a sign of something serious? I just don't know what to think.

lack of appetite is called anorexia this could be anorexia nervosa which is caused by an abnormality in the Central Nervous System (CNA/Brain) This is when one has a fear or unusual since of self appearance resulting in refusal to eat. or it could just be anorexia non-anorexia nervosa a simple lack of appetite, most people lose appetite for short periods of time because of physical illness or they have just eaten enough. (Hyporexia - just lowered appetite)I personally may not eat for three or two days. Consuming Laxatives is not a good thing unless a Medical Doctor prescribes. Either way consult an Medical Doctor

The appetite has shrunk even more. I've been living on 2 mouthfuls of food a day, because that's all it takes for me to feel really bloated. In fact, if I take just one extra mouthful, I feel like I've been greedy and eaten a huge buffet. It's like someone's fitted me with a gastric band in my sleep (LOL). Another thing is, I'm constipated for 16 days at a time, and the only thing that changes it is a WHOLE bottle of Laxoberal chugged down in one go. Otherwise, I can't go at all...

Hey, I know what you are talking about. I haven't been having it to that degree though, I still eat pretty regularly. I used to eat 2 meals a day, I still eat two, but just not as much as the meal. But I've been increasing my exercise routines, so it's caused my stomach to literally shrink internally, not able to have as much food. But I still eat fine, but you on the other hand could have something serious, I think you should see your doctor.

Go to the doctor asap and get checked out. You may have developed a hormone problem, like your thyroid perhaps. This is definitely not normal.

Yes, go and see a doctor.

This happened to me for a while, but it cleared up by itself fortunately.

You could be having a chemical imbalance in your brain resulting in mild depression, maybe. Have a check up with your doctor.
