A guy who likes me does'nt want to be in a relatsionship is it normal?

I was introduced to a guy since in 2009 and it was love at first sight. We talked for a year and only till recent we hooked up.The problem is he made it clear that he consider ,me more than a friend but he does'nt want to be in a relatsionship. He said it would comlicate things but i dont agree. We are'nt sexually active but we do other sexuall stuff.I find myself zoneing out in the middle of our sexual activties because im realy not the type of person to give so much away to a guy im hopeing fells the same way i do........my selfrespect is fadeing slowly and i dont want to let him go because he is one of the cloosest people to me.........I dont know if im just takeing things out of context:(

If he's happy to do sexual things with you but doesn't want to be in a relationship with you then he's using you. I'd cut my losses...

A couple of years ago, I was doing a study with one of the psychology academics at work and it was all focussed around sex and self-respect. She was trying to produce results to show how much impact is made on our self-respect by sexual activity with people we're not in a relationship with (both one night stands and the kind of friends with benefits). For men, it didn't have a lot of effect. For women, it was very significant indeed. So I think you've already hit the nail on the head and worked this out.

The question is what you do about this. And I'm afraid there are no easy answers to that one.
