"red or blue" bomb disarmament at the end of action movies...

This stereotypical action movie ending is unbelievably uncreative! 32
Why the hell do movies still end like that??? 17
I still don'T know which wire it is they're supposed to cut 35
I like these "red or blue" exciting scenes in action movies 7
What is a bomb? What is an action movie? Where am I? 35
Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

I'll have to go with Scarecrow and Mrs. King.

    ---------------

MRS. KING: I think you should cut the blue wire. Yeah, the blue wire.

Scarecrow cuts the blue wire and the countdown stops.

    SCARECROW: How did you know?

MRS. KING: Well, at home, whenever something goes wrong with the dishwasher, I just jiggle the blue wire.

I saw a film once where they were in a submarine and the only light was a bright green emergency light. Someone on the walkie talkie said "cut the blue wire" but when our intrepid hero looked down, one of the wires looked pale green and one looked dark green. That was fun.

If I made films, though, I'd subvert every stereotype possible. I'd have the guy cut the wrong wire and get blown up. In fact, I once posted a story about this kind of thing.

AWESOME!! This is one of my most importatn life goals, to create stories which will be extremely thought provoking, and in no way be typical formula scripts of norm.

It' going to touch on prejudices and streotypes in amazing, shocking ways. I'd also like to spend a year or so at least trying to find proof of karma.

I always get so excited talking about this stuff, so thanks, dapp, my cheeks hurt now! : )

Hehe, it excites me too. With conventional stories, I feel like I've read it or seen it all before. I also realise I've been subverting stereotypes all my life. When I was a kid, my younger siblings always wanted me to invent bedtime stories for them (they felt like the books were lying to them and mine were more true somehow). All of them appear to be leading into stereotype and then blew it apart at the end, often shockingly, which kind of highlights the stereotype very clearly.

I wrote one of them up once but I'm not sure people particularly appreciated it. I'm coming back to writing recently and feel a strong urge to write. I'll probably reopen my deviantArt account and write there. What do you do with yours, by the way?
