"putting oregon back to work" signs, is it normal that they annoy me?
Putting Oregon back to work. Really?
Everywhere you drive now in Oregon you see construction signs on the side of the road
claiming that due to all of the road construction, they are creating jobs. This is fine
and it is just another sign in a sea of signs.
Well after yet another interview but this time with an employment agency (Which I think
is f-ing useless as the help they give is rather pointless in this job search.) I am
still trying to find a job that they are "supposibly" giving out.
Then it hit me further as I saw three guys spend at least an hour putting up the same
sign outside of my apartment complex on the corner. They dug a hole, put the sign post
into the ground and filled the hole with a cement mixture. To do all of this, they had
to use materials that were paid by our tax dollars as well as driving a huge f-ing truck
to be able to do so with.
The worst part is how the cement will be a complete bitch to clean up when the sign is
gone and NOBODY asked for this sign. Is this a complete waste of taxpayers dollars or is
it just me? And if so, what the hell does it do, tell out that there are jobs out there?
What the fuck is the point?
Is this okay to do with our money? I know it is normal as this shit happens all of the
time but is it normal to give a shit about it? How does this kind of crap benefit anyone
besides the three people it helped employ with our money and resources.
Lastly though above all else, "Putting Oregon back to work?" Really, where is
the proof of this? Is it okay to be annoyed by seeing these signs?
