2-parter, both about nipples :/

So here's the 1st part
1. Is it normal to "nip" like literally 99% of the time?
I live on the West Coast (US) & recently it got up to about 100F degrees, a friend asked me if i was wearing "fake nipples" for attention i was like "wtf?" As i didn't even know those existed, let alone that ppl would buy them!

He told me he notices that in any attire almost and even on hot days, if I'm napping on the couch, literally any photo (unfortunately inc even family photos *smh*) that I'm always nipping.

Is that normal?!

#2 should i be as ashamed of it as I am? I've actually put light adhesive bandaids on them to flatten them, worn extra layers and almost always wear dark colors so they're not as noticeable. It's so embarrassing and growing up i was told by my sister it was " obscene" but i really do have no control over it.

I doubt there's any way of stopping this from happening without some weird, expensive cosmetic surgery, but i don't want to do that.

It's just so embarrassing and i hate wrapping up with an over shirt or pashmina to just redirect/cover it up. :/

Nipples are natural... why are you even concerned?

It's not as if other people don't know what they are or how they look...

If your really upset... might I suggest pasties instead of a bra. A lot more comfy... and you can get all kinds of styles and personalize yourself.

Be sure not to use the glue on the actual nipple though - just around the edges (for the reusable kind).

    • I guess I'm concerned because it's a hangup, I wish i could get over it, but even the people who don't mind it/for some odd reason like it, still get uncomfortable by it at times.

I've had relationships end because of it and have almost been raped a cpl times (and successfully raped once) due to it.

It's scary at times, I'm not saying everybody or even most people are this way, but that's the now serious part of it.

To have guys push you down and tell you it's obvious you're into it because your nipples are hard (you'd think they'd know that fear or being handled roughly/fabric being abrasive to the skin) could and does cause that reaction as well.

I'm sorry about your experiences with sexual assault. Unfortunately, all too common.

I'll also agree that a lot of males are uneducated on many things - and I believe that much of that in regards to females is intentional so that they can continue to support their beliefs of superiority. Uggg...

As a guy I get horny too (as do many females) - but there reason to treat a female improperly to find a partner for sexual relief - if that is what you need. I've found that if you treat Ladies respectfully that there are plenty of willing ones who understand being horny and are willing to participate.

I suggest that you look at pasties - there are hundreds of designs. Start with some disposable ones (or limited reuse) and then move to permanent ones (with separate glue) after you get used to them and know what designs you like.

Have you tried moulded cup bras? They are very thick so you can't see nipples through them.

If your boobs are small you could even try a padded bra, but they usually only make them in the smaller sizes.

    • I've tried that and it gets really uncountable and sweaty (and mine are kinda larger so i already have the sweat issue esp in higher heat)

I tried a maternity bra with has a cover that slips inside but the heat is just ungodly 😲

Yeah, I suppose they can get a bit sweaty. Mine are big too, but I live in the tropics so I get sweaty whatever I wear, hadn't thought about the moulded bras being the cause lol.

I don't know if maternity bras or breastfeeding pads are the solution. I've had babies and used these products but they aren't particularly comfortable and they are sweaty as fuck. Probably not something you'd bother with if you're not actually nursing. I couldn't wait to stop wearing mine when I was nursing my youngest!

I don't have the problem in warmer temps but colder days or places the AC is working overtime cause an issue and of course certain environments and company can.

Besides the pasties, a little thicker bra (understand the heat issue), a little looser or thicker material for the tops you're wearing might work. How many times have we had to sacrifice fashion for function or comfort.

Of course you could own the situation and really f..k with the other women.
100 degree day and some one walks up to you all perky and says; is it just me or is it cold in here? or is that your guy? he's cute!

On second thought maybe not, it wouldn't make you many friends and may get you called a few names.

Hope you find a way that works for you.

Just one guy's opinion here, I always thought there are only two reasons why nipples get hard. Your Cold, or your sexually turned on.
If you're not grabbing for a jacket, then you must be turned on. Either way it's time to do something about it. I'd question how high is your sex drive?

It's not normal for your nipples to be erect all the time. That being said, it's not something you should be ashamed of. Have a doctor examine it.

Don't worry about it, anyone who'd get offended or turned on by the imprint of nipples through clothes is pretty fucking sad (I get turned on by it admittedly but I wouldn't brag about it). Certainly no one would say anything.

People can try to convince you to not be ashamed as it’s pretty basic biology, but if it makes you uncomfortable that’s entirely valid.

You could try “pasties” which are like chest stickers, some women wear them for sheer clothing or to avoid showing a bra in a low back outfit. Or buying bras with thicker lining if you wear bras.

When you buy a sports bra they often have thin material inserts in pockets, they easily slide out and could be layered into a bra, I know some breastfeeding mothers have patches they wear

    • Yeah I've had the most luck with pasties (i couldn't think of the name of them so i put bandaids in post whoops 😆) but since the glue is for such a sensitive area, it's rather weak.

I've tried other glues and had issues but most of the time they kinda just "spring up" and the adhesive is long gone within 20-30mins, less on a hot day.

I've tried 'padded bras' or like those types of sports bras you mentioned, and even maternity bras that have that lil slit that has a removable thin pad but it makes things really warm and i get either hives or just a lot of discomfort/overheated.

I guess I'll Google some "pasties" and see if there's any ' Gorilla' strength glue that can be used safely on skin 😆

There is at least one site that specializes in them; and Yandy.com has a lot of them as well.

I suggest that you email them with your glue issue and ask for advice. I'm sure they are aware of the problem - and have a solution.

If the makeup artist in the 1060's could glue either horse or camel hair on my face to create a beard that stayed there for most of a week (including showers) - I'm sure there's a glue for your issue.

        • Wow, 1060s, you ARE an old dude, that sucks you had to wait like 400 years for the invention of whiskey 😝

But yeah I used to do theatre in college and we used all sorts of glue and 'spirit gum' afterwards so i think I'll shoot them a msg.

Thanks for the Yandy suggestion too 👍 😀
