"old" woman hitting on me

I'm an 18 year old girl and a 55 year old woman is hitting on me. I've often seen her around when I've been out shopping until we finally talked and this is what came out of it. I do find her very attractive and nice, but I'm just worried what people around me would think if I did this. Is it too weird? What's your opinions on this? Also I'm not the kind of person to really care what people think of me and what I do but this is a little bit... different. Please tell me what you think about this situation?

    I TOTALLY second Bighairy's enthusiastic, "Go for it." It's no one else's business who you choose to date, other than the other person's. If you two hit it off, why not bring some joy to each other's life?
