my theories

The only two theories I believe make sense to me are ones I made up. The first one is I am the only real thing in the universe and I just made up everything else and nothing else is actually real. The other theory I have about our existence is that me and something else are the only two real things and he/she makes the universe and I am the one living on it. Is it normal to think like this?

(P.S. if you would please tell me your theories, I would like to have an open mind)

I remember when I was a kid my brother told me a theory that my young mind ran with and I spent days on end thinking about it ( it was also mentioned in waking life)

A theory that we are near dead our whole lives.

time is perceived differently on different conscious levels such as long dreams that seeming last hours only lasting mins ect, so the idea was that we have already lived our lives and are dying, our life is flashing before our dying eyes but as our organs and brain are shutting down we are in a different level of consciousness experienceing our life all over again in the very last seconds of life.

I remember being on the playground playing bulldog while debating if I was currently in a hospital somewhere........ I wasn't always that weird as a child

I always liked this thought. Waking Life is a great movie. Some other awesome movies that are about this subject are Jacobs Ladder, The Jacket(directors cut) and Stay.

Love rubber reality films like Jacobs ladder, the jacket was good to, haven't heard of stay I'll check it out :)

Have you seen any of David lynch's films?

I seen a few of them. Eraserhead was really unsettling. Some of his movies are very convoluted and dreamlike. I think the pinnacle of self awareness would be the moment you dream of yourself watching a David Lynch film.

You could def make that argument- but being as we're all gonna die anyways it doesn't really mean much.

I don't believe it, it just got me thinking, but if hypothetically it was true dying now and dying in the future is a big difference

Is it? Consider a cancer patient who has 6 months to live. They are dying for sure.

We're told at birth that we've got 80 or so years to live. We're def dying, just slower and more ambiguously.

Solipsism, yep I sometimes think about that too.

    • Yes, look up solipsism. OP is not the first person to think this, unless of course they are the only person to exist and we are holograms with no self awareness.

Well good. Then OP can't blame me when I take a crap in his toilet and don't flush before sneaking back out of his house.

As you cannot prove your theories. Therefore i think you theories should called assume.

I like to think that the reality we're in now is just a game we're playing that actually lasts a couple of seconds and real life is a lot better. When we come out of the game we'll laugh at eachother and how weird we were.

I managed to use Process Theodicy to convince myself I was God one night... It was late and I was tired and very hormonal; I think you'd all be glad to know I haven't done this again...

What is so great about you?

Why are you the only true thing that exists?

Why I am just a mere figment of your imagination?

    • I don't mean to offend you or anyone else but I mean it's just hard to understand ANYTHING because everything came from one thing, and since I can only prove I'm real because I can only hear my thoughts I feel like other people aren't real. I feel like I am god sometimes in a person's body and I don't realize I make up all these things but I do.

        You didn't offend me.

Your theory kind of reminds me of the Hologram Universe theory. Or, am I mixing this theory up with another theory?
