"murder hornets"

There's something that has to get addressed in which is pissing me right off! It's about the huge hornet's that is in the UK, USA, and Canada. Here's the thing...

THEY'RE NOT CALLED MURDER HORNETS!

They're known as the Asian giant hornet, vespa mandarinia, and Suzumebachi (which means sparrow bee). I know this is how the normies of society pronounce them, and as much as I despise that name; I get it. Most of y'all don't have a fear or/and a fascination for hornet's and wasps.

I have this fear of hornet's, wasps, and used to have a fear of bees. However with this phobia, instead of being totally afraid; I wanted to learn more about these pests. I learned about the Asian hornet when I was 13. It was also this time I learned that Suzumebachi was one of the things it was called.

Overall I decided to learn so that I can be prepared for an encounter with this particular insect.

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

Yeah, since people are tired of covid-19.

There is also some black hole that is "only" 1,000 light years away that they are worried is going to swallow the Earth.

You have to wonder though, when is the next end of the world predicted solely on the basis of date, like Dec 21st 2012.

And when is the next Rapture suppose to be? The Antichrysler is scheduled to queef again pretty soon isn't he?

I assumed the "murder hornet" was some species I'd never heard of, but it appears that it's actually the Asian Giant Hornet (Vespa mandarinia). Since I'm a beekeeper in the UK, I am very aware of that species and know a bit about it's behaviour.

The AGH has been established in mainland Europe for a few years now, and a few colonies have recently been found in southern Britain. It would be a grossly sensational exaggeration to say that it's been killing lots of people, but I wouldn't be surprised if a few people might have been killed by it. But then a few people who are hypersensitive die after being stung by a honeybee, wasp or non-Asian hornet every year.

It's of interest to beekeepers here because it considers any beehive it comes across to be an all you can eat buffet. Normally, the hornets must spend a lot of time flying around hunting for single insects, but once they've located a beehive, they systematically attack it.

As insects go, it's pretty intelligent, and they work together to snatch out of the air bees flying in and out of the hive. Eventually, the bees recognise the threat outside and go into lockdown mode, which in itself causes huge problems of all sorts for the hive. The hornets then move into the hive as a gang, and start attacking the bees. A really strong hornet colony can slaughter the thousands of adult bees in a hive and remove all the larvae in just a few hours.

European honeybees have no defence against the Giant Hornet, since their stings can't penetrate them. (Asian honeybees have an instinct to immediately "ball" any hornet they come across near their colony: a mass of bees clump around the hornet, bite it to hold themselves in place, work their wing muscles to produce heat and cook the hornet until it's dead.)

As far as I know, the AGH nests only in paper nests that are much like those built by native American hornets and wasps, and these are normally positioned high in trees. In fact, one of the problems with eradicating the AGH in Europe is that the nests are very difficult to find. It would be highly unusual for an AGH colony to build its nest in a place that a person is likely to blunder in to in unawares, and the hornets aren't so defensive that they're likely to attack someone walking near their tree.

By all accounts, they do have a very painful sting and the stinger is long enough that it's able to penetrate normal clothing (and normal bee-suits). But they've evolved to prey is other insects, not humans or other large animals, so it's not like they're constantly out looking for people to kill or that they have an instinctive drive to sting any person they ever see.

You sound like one of those people who'd complain about them calling it the Wuhan virus, with the only reasoning being "that's not what it's called".

Since people are tired of being afraid of covid-19, I mean people just don't give a shit at this point, it is the next big scare.

I thought about this time of year they were suppose to invent a new mosquito disease, why have they foregone that?

Gotta change the topic to keep people interested. Hearing about diseases is an overplayed song on the radio right now, people start to realize it was never really that good.

If they overplay it as much as they do Adele or Taylor Swift, our grandchildren will be needlessly in quarantine.

Keep your ear to the ground, cause that's a scary possibility. Anyone with their head outside their rectum can tell there's more going on than stopping people from getting sick.

I don't think it matters what something is called as long as it's not offensive and people know what they're talking about

I wonder if spectracide wasp and hornet killer will kill those things? I mean that particular spray is brutal.

BTW, some texts call those things "hornets from hell"

Here is one you might enjoy, it is a little gross but anyways. Youtube Black Scorpion VS Giant Hornet LEGEND VS!
          or follow https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkLiJOjh8JA

Now if you have a soft spot for giant hornets, this video may be disturbing. If you HATE the mother fuckers, go grab some popcorn.

In the beginning, we noticed the hornet from hell acting like a scared little pussy-ass bitch.

The scorpion, who is thinking of nothing except a bite to eat, carefully prepares the hornet.

The best part is around 11 seconds when the scorpion rubs it's claws together like a human might before digging into a porterhouse steak.
Around 45 seconds, the hornet is decapitated and the head just thrown to the side like a human would just throw a chicken bone to the side.

At the end after the hornet has been eaten alive, the scorpion can be seen heading off, probably to go get a cold beer.

Duuude thats not fair. The scorpion has body armor all over. I believe he is unstingable. I think the hornet realized real quick that it was over. Thats why the hornet attempted to play dead. Good stuff. Kind of fucked. But in a strange way sort of American...

When it comes to spiders VS wasps/hornets, I always root for the spider. Yeah spiders are pretty vile themselves but choosing the lesser evil...

Insects don't usually freak me out but I think if a murder hornet got all up in my face I'd seriously just stand there frozen and piss myself.
