I actually like Thousand Sons, hated minutes to midnight, loved the rest.
its true that they changed too much too fast, but i think the songs are much better now, especially lyrically
I like the newer stuff better. People will hate me for having an opinion different from their's, but I think they've improved lyrically, they're giving a voice to my generation! And musically,they've become more creative. The songs aren't held together by the feedback provided by 4 chords!
And I'm sure loads of people hate them now for using keyboards and think they're "not rock/metal anymore! duuurgh!". Well, they weren't exactlly Led Zep or Megadeth before....

Alright I don't mind soft music but I am really a rock/alternative person. I loved the kind of rock they had before. They didn't need to update.
They had a very loyal following and a following of those fans children. My dad loved linkin park and so did me and my sibling. A lot of kids listen to what parents listen to.
If mom and dad are listening to 80s so are the kids. I remember in kindergarten everyone was listening to spice girls, MJ, Britney spears, and Red hot chille peppers. Some of these people were popular in the 80s and late 70s.
they could have lasted as an awesome rock band. They would always have a following. However when they tried to update and fit in with the times I think they lost a lot of fans.
Some things are timeless. This was one of those things that was just not going to lose popularity. However they thought they needed change to stay cool and they didn't. Even if the old Linkin park fans are still listening to them they are probably not going to buy anymore albums. Linkin park is dead and they really didn't have to be. Sometimes you don't mess with a good thing.
It might be more forgivable if they did soft stuff just for one album but they completely abandoned what made them Unique.
They tried to confirm to everyone else and that what made them lose their uniqueness. When you are Unique don't change.
The people who cared about your uniqueness are going to be let down. Now they sound like every other crappy band. They had something special sounding like a generic boy band doesn't make you cool. It makes you generic. The fans didn't care about how Generic they were they liked the style.
i like some of their newer music but i do prefer older hybrid theory was best album
The crowd dont lie they let you know if its a hit or miss
unless they hypocrites depending on the weather

I used to like them, but they're too whiny for me now.
If I want something hard, it'll be some Frank Klepecki, Arch Enemy, Mastodon, etc.
New LP is SHIT!!! They went from hardcore raprock to hard pop. WTF!?!?!?!?!
I only like Reanimation really, I'm a big fan of hip hop and I like nu-metal so...
I like the old one best.. BUT: Their new album is actullay pretty good, wierd but good..
Definetely the old. I don't like how their music softened up unlike back then when they would scream their throats outs like "faint" and "crawling". Even the pace of their songs slowed down which really annoys me.
I hated Minutes to Midnight.
I didn't expect it at all and was hoping for it to be like their older stuff... and I stopped listening to it.
However.. one day I decided to pop the CD back in and gave it another chance. It just happened to... grow on me.
I like both now for different reasons (:
i don't really hate a thousand sons...its just not linkin park no offence to anyone who disagrees...
just a few days ago i downloaded all of theyre old work and thought to my self, fuck.. theyre new shit is the end of L.P.
all theyre old work is just fucking awesome though, one of my favorite bands of all time
