"is it normal to love watcching disney movies as a young adult?

I am trying to be a bit more mature now. I recently turned 19 and am doing well with this, but I am still struggling a little bit. The most common area of concern for me is what I watch on television. Most commonly, I still cannot stop watching all the animated disney films from my childhood years. To me, it is like anyone can learn something from them, but I am not sure if everyone feels that way. Any way, I want to be more mature, so should I stop watching those animated films? Is it normal to still do this?

I love kids films. Totoro is still one of my favorite films. And I loved monsters inc, me and my friend are both 20 year old guys and we can't wait to go see it. Nothing wrong with liking kids films.

I'm 19 years old and about a month ago I wrote an editorial on my defunct blog explaining why Wreck-It Ralph is objectively a good film for adults.

Don't worry, that's not even the least of it, I also watched Dreamsworks' The Croods recently and remember it as being one of my favorite Dreamworks films of all time. And that's barely scratching the surface.

Also I'm studying animation at University in a couple months, I think you'll be fine.

Watch what you want on TV, it's there to entertain you first and foremost.

I would say, though, that most of the messages you can learn from Disney are messages you should have learned by the age of 13 anyway. I mean the moral and ethical subtext in most Disney films is very basic, and recycled over and over and over. It's one of the things I find personally off-putting about most Disney movies - the patronising parables and the archetypical characters.

That being said, Dumbo is still one of my favourite films.

I'm going to be 21 this month and I still watch Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and all the other childhood cartoons and shows I grew up with. I will never grow out of that stuff. Nothing is wrong with enjoying Disney films. I mean, who doesn't? Mulan and The Lion King are some of my favorite movies ever.

Never give up the kid inside. It's something I know we all have or at least hope so. I really do.

That's why my 21st birthday party will have a freaking bouncy castle. My uncle said it was immature and I was like pffft bouncy castles are fucking fun. Doesn't matter how old you are. Same goes with your disney movies. Doesn't matter how old you are, they will always be entertaining.

Get drunk, then get in the bouncy castle. It's the natural progression into adulthood.

It is if it was destino- a disney/salvador dali production. It can be seen on vimeo, or the latest release of fantasia as an extra- its about the bond between father time and a mortal woman. Trippy stuff

nothing wrong with it per se...but may indicate some immaturity

Oh disney. The thing that makes your child hood awesome. Ruins your teen years. Than makes adult hood awesome. That my friends is the magic of Disney

Yes though I now find the ones like "Land before time" really annoying. Still love lady and the tramp and the dalmatian movies. It might just be the fact I like dogs though.

I'm 28 and I still watch Disney films, I also have quite an affinity to the Disney Princesses...and I'm a guy. So yeah, just be you and never give up things you enjoy just because you feel you've "outgrown" them. We can be mature adults and still enjoy 'childish' things once in a while ;)
