"is it normal to hallucinate knives and feel pain that isn't there"

Whenever i get stressed out or worried I often feel a sharp pain in my body. It feels like I'm being stabbed, like literally stabbed. The pain is usually on one of my legs, but sometimes it's on my arm, or chest. If I look down at where the pain is coming from, I see a knife. Yes, I know i might sound crazy, but I see a knife stabbed into my skin, dripping with blood. I'm an 18 year old girl, and I am very concerned. I've never heard of this kind of thing before. I can actually feel the knife going into me, and blood dripping down my leg. But I know that it's not really there, so no I'm not really being stabbed. Am I crazy?

I highly recommend to see a psychiatric
This could be a type of schizophrenia
Getting treated and sticking to medication can improve your condition

i have worked in a psychiatric hospital
And there are 2 kinds of patients
Patients who don't realize they have a problem
And patients like you who got self awareness
The later type has a better prognosis when getting symptoms managed

    So don't worry

Have this checked out - Schizophrenia is not usually something that improves if left untreated. It can suddenly and dramatically get worse. Do seek help as soon as you can.
