i only get noticed for my hair

I've wanted long hair for a while, and for a quite a few years I grew it out and tried to take good care of it. Now that it's down to my waist my hair is the main thing that I get complimented on, and it's starting to get annoying. People ask if its real and some are rude enough to pull it to see if its actually mine. This can happen several times a day, and I'm starting to feel like it's a curse. I love my hair but I'm thinking of just cutting it off and donating it?

When I use to have long hair I got a lot of attention for it and eventually I grew to despise that. I wanted to be my own person and for a long time I was "denied" the right to cut my hair. For me, I saw my long hair was a symbol of constraint and I saw the short hair I longed to have as symbol of freedom and individuality. I did get it cut but it wasn't as short I wanted it. The shortest I've gotten it cut was to the point where my neck ends. I didn't like it because, to me, it wasn't short enough. Hmm... It seems I left some stuff out. I need to backtrack a bit. When I got my hair cut the people at the salon acted like it was the second coming of Christ. They were taking photos and what not. I can't remember in depth how I felt about all that attention. I was "happy" but that was because I about to break that unattainable goal... I'm not sure me cutting my hair still tickles a flame in their bellies. I do worry sometimes if they think there's something wrong with me for wanting to cut it so much.

I hope you're happy with how your hair is now, all the attention that comes with hair can feel like an invasion of your personal space

Don't let the haters discourage you OP; your hair is no doubt wonderful and it would be sad if you cut it, especially for that reason :(

That's sad but they ... Why don't they mind there own business it is rude they shouldn't judge your hair so you don't cut it but if you want to cut it you could that was not nice people making fun of your hair

I've been getting noticed for my hair my whole life, and it means a lot to me when I get compliments. I've always been jealous of people who have really nice eyes, and I get a boost of confidence when someone shrieks of how much they love my hair, and it makes me feel a tad bit more special. I know I have other good features, but I would rather get a compliment on my hair rather than "Hey, nice boobs" ;)
