"i'm your dad", iin?!

About 30 minutes ago, something strange happened. I heard one of those radios truckers use to communicate with in the room I was in. I heard the usual *beep* loud and clear but a voice came I that I didn't know yet it sounded somewhat familiar. In a husky voice with a slight southern accent, the voice said,"I'm your dad".

The thing is my dad has been dead ever since I was about 3 years old. He was a trucker who was born in the south. Another weird thing is that I was under the impression that there were no trucker communication radios in the house. I have heard of a paranormal phenomenon where people hear their dead loved ones on phones but this is slightly different.

Is it normal?!

I don't know if it was your dead father talking to you but let's assume it was: What sense does it make for him to just tell you who he is and nothing more? What does it mean to you?

Maybe, he will try to communicate with me more. He might have told me this because my mother is very religious and believes that ghosts are really demons in disguise. He's been dead for years and there was very little way for me to remember what he sounded like. What does it mean to me? I'm not quite sure. Its nice to see that he cares about me. After all, if you didn't care about someone would you try so hard to communicate with them? Later that day, I got this idea to try to write a email to his sister, whom I haven't seen for years. Maybe, this is what he wants me to do, to get to know his family.

What a crappy message from the beyond...

    "I'm your dad."

    And?

To me its not crappy. It was a surprise albeit a short one, but nice nonetheless. Perhaps, there is more in store.

What if it's all in yo' head thooooough?

Or it's not your Dad and some other spirit playing a prank?

Or it was a trucker passing by using the frequency, who said "I like plaid", and you heard what you wanted to hear?

I don't think it was in my head. I haven't had an adulatory hallucination in a long time and the "message" didn't portray the usual signs.

That is always a possibility but I didn't get the feeling of malignancy, though. I tend to be very intuitive about such things.

I initially thought it was a truck but there weren't any passing my house at the time and I don't think tractor trailers are allowed around my area. It could be wrong though, but some areas aren't, I guess, zoned for having commercial trucks driving through them.

Odd. I hate how nowadays so many people assume that everything is a troll post.

I'm not Darth Vader and you aren't Luke Skywalker. No, don't tell me, I already know how cruel reality can be.

Do you think it was your dad?

I asked my mom about it and judging from my description, she believes this was him. I guess I believe it too. Normally, I would be terrified if such a thing happened. The only thing I was was shocked but I didn't feel like any harm would come to me. I wouldn't mind if it happened some more.

I don't think I've ever experienced anything like that, if I have then I don't remember.

I do believe things like that can happen though.

So u think you would be less shocked and more about to try to communicate if something similar happens again?

Yes, I think I would be open to it. It might feel weird at first but with time I'm sure I'll get used to communicating with a spirit. I just hope that I would have some pen and paper on me so I could write down what the spirit said.

That's nice if your dad was trying to communicate. Also if you see or hear anything paranormal in your home, it's the spirit/ghost/your dad trying to get your attention.

A think all paranormal activity being attributed to my father, especially in this house is slightly unwise. I've seen and heard about some weird ass stuff occurring in this house. Some of which would appear NOT to be benevolent but thankfully those kind of occurrences have been rare. The paranormal seems to be tricky.

Yes. Keep pen & paper handy.

A tape recorder if you have one.

    Good luck with this :)

Thanks. While there's always some form of paper in this room, the voice has yet to return.
