i hate it when people come into my work during a snow storm

I work at a retail store that only sells paint and there is a state of emergency where I live due to over a foot of snow falling last night. I was required to come into work today. Despite skidding, shoveling, sliding and slowly crawling down the highway I made it to work. However, every time the door opens and someone walks in,I hate them,I do not understand why they need to come out during a storm for paint. I feel this way because they are the reason people have to risk their lives to get to work. Is it normal to hate the customer for coming into your place of work during a snow storm?

I certainly can't imagine anyone "needing" paint in the middle of a snowstorm.
I think it's your boss who is the jerk, though; the customers are just crazy.

Are they artists? Maybe, they really need it for something important like a project. If they know that a storm is coming and that they need paint, they should stock up on some before the weather hits!

    • Exactly!

They might have a very busy life and a tight schedule - an don't have time to worry about bad weather.
Maybe there's a lot of pressure on them from a spouse or other relative to get a certain painting project done by a certain date, so they'd rather risk their life than disappoint those people.
Some people just need paint! :D

I'm from Canada and, here, life doesn't stop for any amount of snow. hehehehe

You are right. You never know what someone's background is when they go into a store looking for some paint. Imagine going a to prestigious art school where everyone is breathing down your neck to do a good job as well as to be pretentious… God forbid if they refuse to live by their rules! Sounds like madness.

Lucky you! I bet the snows is Canada are a beauty. I once saw a photo where the snow had accumulated as high as the trees.

Here's a thought...Why the fuck is your store open during such a snow storm & state of emergency? If you were closed you wouldn't have to worry about the customers.
