how do you reject the guys who you don't like?

I recently told the guy I like that I liked him and he laughed derisively, and mean spiritedly within earshot with his friend about how I complimented him on his looks and the fact that I liked him.

And the last time I interacted with him, he was nice, so I just don't get why he would reject me in such a malicious way.

If I were to reject anyone, I would do it gently in not such a dramatic and mean spirited way.

And to be completely honest, it hurt a lot. More than I thought it would.

    A little bit of humour at your own expense is generally good for reducing the awkwardness which inevitably follows through.

    So many people just flat out don't give a rat's dead ass who they humiliate, embarrassed, hurt, or even chew them up and spit them out right in front of God and the rest of society within earshot. Many of them are low self esteem, not very sure of the life they lead and serious lack of confidence. Just consider the source, tell him to not be such a douche and have respect for other people's feelings. And then tell him he can bend over and kiss his own ass, and then he can fuck off and die

    I try to be nice about it, however i have trouble with words sometimes and it might come out harsher then i would have liked :/ then i would apologize for being mean and that'd make it more awkward lol ive never been in this position too much though.

    What are you, in high school?
    You must have pretty terrible taste in boys to have picked that jerk to try to be friends with. How about you concentrate on your school work (that IS why you are in school, after all) and not waste your time with the jerks of this world.
