3 guys, walking through the desert....?

There's 3 guys walking through the desert.

An American guy is carrying a canteen of water. "In case I get thirsty, I can drink some water"

The Mexican guy is carrying a bowl of chili. "In case I get hungry, I can eat it"

And here comes a Polish guy, carrying a car door.

"Why the hell are you carrying a car door through the desert?"

Polish guy says, "In case I get hot, I can roll down the window."

It didn't amuse me in the slightest. I really don't mean that offensively or anything, I think I must have said something weird to the OP on the last post about jokes, and I didn't mean that comment to be harsh either:S.

To be honest, I don't actually get this one. Do the Polish have a reputation for rolling down windows or something? Either way, it's not often I laugh at jokes which have no context. My sense of humour just really doesn't go that way. If I do, it'll be the way someone delivered it that I'm laughing at. And I'm one of those people who only get the joke well after it's been said. My brain can have a hard time understanding some really conventional forms of humour. I hate that:(.

I'm sure it's funny, though. It just didn't make me smile. I don't find the sort of jokes you'd find in a joke book or on a joke website funny. Sorry:/.

Edit: If me admitting how unfunny I am helps, I will say that I laughed at the title, but that's only because I thought it said they'd walked through a dessert. Hardly funny.:/

I have no idea why some people think Poles are stupid. This joke actually reminds of a game called "Polish Roulette." It's like Russian Roulette, but instead of a revolver, you have to use a semi-automatic pistol.

Could be funny, but why a Polish guy? When I think of Polish people, I think of dentists and immigrants, but I don't really think of stupidity :/ Maybe it's a stereotype I'm unfamiliar with...

  Surely you have heard Irish jokes, no? The same Polish jokes told in the US are told as Portuguese jokes in Brazil and in Canada they are Newfoundlander jokes. Even in the US if you go to Texas the same jokes become Aggie jokes (students at an agricultural university).
  
  In pretty much every country or region there are jokes about another group being depicted as dumb. In France it's the Belgians, in Sweden it's the Norwegians, in Switzerland (German speaking part) the Austrians, and I guess a bunch of others around the world I'd love to know about but don't.
