"good luck to you all"...? is it a normal phrase?
Whenever I hear "good luck to everyone" or "good luck to you all" or some such thing, in say, a competition/game show, it baffles me a little bit. Surely if you're giving everyone the same amount of good luck, then that defeats the whole point of giving them luck, no?
Is it normal to think this? Or have I just misunderstood the phrase entirely?
