'forever alone' is okay by me.

I've never been in a relationship and I can't possibly imagine being in one. I've had lots of people telling me that I'm gonna end up an old lady who lives in a big house with her 50 cats. They tell me that the there'll be no one to take care of me when i'm older and blah; like it's the worst possible thing in the world. Is it normal that I don't mind being 'Forever Alone' ?

I think you have the right idea!!! No one to cheat on you, lie to you, or boss you around. Also you won't have to suffer through bad sex all the time and pretend it's good. You will have the freedom to do anything! Like take a yoga class, go here, go there, hang out with friends, raise your pets/(if you wanted to adopt kids) the way you want. I think you are the only normal one out there. You are very smart!

I don't see it as being forever alone. I haven't dated in ages, but I still have heaps of friends. Just because you aren't in a relationship, you are still interacting with people all the time. I love life as a single person, and I doubt I'll be pulled out of it anytime soon...

It's your life, so you can do what you want. If you're happy being single that's fine.

My Asperger's causes me to be fine tending to my video games (while shunning much human contact at the same time), but I open up pretty quickly in bars and on Internet forms and chat rooms.

There's good to be had in relationships and I know it, because I miss talking to my love interest. (I hope I reestablish contact with her one day.) I'm not in a position to diagnose anyone as being an Aspie, but I know them when I see them. :-D You might wanna study up on Asperger's, and perhaps talk with anyone who's an Aspie themselves.

You'll have no idea what you missed out on in life. Even if it turns out bad, I'd rather experience it.

Lucky you... Stay damn away fron freaking relationships, they're onky problems!!! Youre doing fine by your own, at the end you dont need anyone to reach all your goals in life.

You won't be living life. As humans, were suppose to interact with one another. I feel that way to as I like being alone most of the time but I don't mind having company. Get out there and explore things in life and you will find people who want the same thing that you do.

I'm the exact same way. Periodically family members will ask me if I have a boyfriend yet, but I really don't want one. I want to remain single my whole life and own lots of cats.

  • I plan to live this way just without the cats.

It's fine. Sometimes I feel like that too. Other people may not understand it, but that doesn't mean that they can dictate what's best for you.

  • I think that this is just a phase. Once you have a good relationship you'll scone addicted to that feeling. And you'll know it when it comes along.
