I'm Canadian and I worked for American Express for a year (at a Canadian call centre)and all of the customers calling in where Americans. The majority of them had no idea where Canada was - some even thought is was south of Mexico. Sure there are some "aware" Americans, but it's my opinion that the majority are minimally aware of the other countries they share the world with.

Ok Americans. England is its own country, England is in the UK it's not actually the UK. Its just in the UK. i think you guys need to pay more attention in your geography class.
It's not their fault guys. The American government promotes a lack of education and knowledge about the world outside of the US. If you can keep the masses dosile, they'll do whatever you want them to. It's all about control; control leads to power. I know this because I have fought alongside US soldiers in Afghanistan and have seen first hand the way they are. England is different, people have their own opinions and question things more.

that's stereotypical, and you would be highly offended if an American were to say that about someone of your nationality...i am an American, and would do anything to live outside of this country...it is not the American people who are selfish and ignorant, it is the American government...

But it was also ignorant of others to call Americans dumb.
Wales is part of England (UK). The UK is "made" up of a few countries. I learned this in my 6th grade geography class. Hope im right!

I dont see any reason to know exactly where Wales is to be honest. Other than being another useless fact to me why would I take the time to remember that? Knowing where Wales is would give me no benifit so even if you told me I probably wouldnt bother trying to remember.
it saddens me to know that some of my fellow americans got this wrong. i should thank my lucky stars that i even know what Wales IS.
despite numerous attempts to be a United Nation, The countries that make the UK keep their independent Identities, Even England has their own flag apart from the Union Jack of the UK.
Thats funny, i know where it is but i have always been confused with the UK. Is the United Kingdom of Great Britian a Country itself or is England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland a country?
