12 years on the job

Well,
I quit my job, today was my last day. I left with a two week notice and on good terms. Not one person said thank you or did anything to wish me well.
I moved on to a better opportunity.
Is it normal for them to do nothing!?
Thanks...feeling a little miffed.

    Peace

Coincidentally I used to work with someone that just quit their job a couple days ago...and I didn't give out much more than a good luck. But yes, unless management does something, no one else will feel its their place to do anything. I've seen people bring in their OWN cake on their last day though :(

No, it is definitely not normal. It's usually an indication that the company has horrible management, and you should be happy that you have moved on. A lot of times coworkers don't even think about things like that--it's up to the manager to do something, send out an email, ask for $5 from everyone for a gift, etc.

I once worked at at place where one of the guys retired after 20 years--and they didn't do anything. We wished him well and said our goodbyes, but we started looking around and wondered--wait a minute, there's no cake? No card? No nothing?! We all honestly thought that management had arranged something.

12 years and they did nothing?!
    That's not right.
I've worked at companies for less than a year and they took me to lunch, bought me flowers, and some people even gave me small gifts and cards.

Maybe good employee relationships is not what your old company was about. Good luck at your new career, I hope you are made to feel wanted there.
