20 years of nightmares?

I have what I call night terrors..unlike nightmares they seem very real and it's hard to wake up from them. I dream about unimaginable, sick shit. And I have 5 dreams that repeat yearly, yet change in ways.My friends, family and boyfriends have had to deal with me screaming in my sleep each night. Sometimes I wake up crying and in mid scream. Nothing I have tried will stop this...Is it weird that I enjoy it? At the moment it's bad but later it is fun to think about my lil "head movies",considering I love horror. People say my dreams are from watching all the horror movies, but the dreams I have are not like anything Ive seen, they scare the hell outa me.

It's an odd thing to enjoy. Thankfully, I no longer have nightmares now.

When I was younger, I would actually use previous nightmares to combat the more present ones, which I suppose is just as odd as liking them. :P

i have had bad dreams that would be great horro movies. the worse one i have now is dreaming and knowing i am asleep but cant wake up. makes me think what a coma would be like. its scary cause you dont know if your in reality when you truly wake up. i searched this and it said to pinch yourself and if you feel it you know your awake. i probably due for this dream again, so ill have to try that. write down your dreams, you could be the next rob zombie!

Sleep specialist doctors should be able to help with this. I had a friend who had night terrors but not anymore.
