25 year old male cries sometimes during shows/movies

I'm a 25 year old man. I started to notice that I cry more easily while watching sad/emotional stuff.

For example, there was a scene in Watchmen where a character tells a girl that he left Earth after she left him. There were also some scenes in Stranger Things.

I find both of these pretty cheesey and I know before I never would have felt even sorta sad. In fact I had seen Watchmen before and I didn't feel sad I'm pretty sure.

I'm wondering if it's because I've met three heartbreaks this year. Each girl was so intelligent and genuinely liked/cared about me. But I screwed them up by feeling inadequate and anxious around them. These heartbreaks weigh on me.

I still find it odd that I'm crying during these shows. It's only for a few seconds but I'm actually sobbing and there are real tears. Does this seem normal?

I think it's good to feel your emotions and feelings. I like guys that can cry.

I think it's normal to become more emotional about as you get older.

You have more life experience and you've been through more shit. You've learned how tough life can be. I think it makes you take other people's pain more seriously because you can relate to it.

It's normal. Emotions make us human and some movies are pure masterpieces that can toy with our emotions easily.

I've only gotten teary eyed on Interstellar, Guardians of the Galaxy 2 - Yandu's speech to Rocket and Yandu's death. Armageddon and UP!
Never thought an animated film would make me cry, but the intro was pure emotion. That was also my grandmother's life... My grandfather died before her and she was never the same again after his death. Up captured that sadness and grief perfectly.

It's good to get your emotions out, and sometimes a good cry really helps.

Hey, if you like anime, watch Hotarubi no Nori e. It's a movie about a friendship that develops into loving feelings but sadly would never go beyond that.

I don't hear of my male friends crying during stuff like this so I'm surprised

Just do not let anyone see you when you cry during whatever you watch.

  • There is no good reason for a grown man to cry unless his family has died or he’s had his limbs blown off. Man up.
