13 year old daughter still sleeps with blankies?

My daughter is about a month away from being thirteen. She still sleeps with her blankies though. She told me that the reason she sleeps with them is because they get cold in the summer from the air condition, which feels good on her neck when she sleeps. And which is true. It gives her something to grab or put her arms around. She's not like 4 and carries them around the house, it's jist for sleeping. Should I tell her to stop using them or is this normal?

    Totally normal! In fact it's good that she keeps memories from her childhood in her sleep. :) dont worry about it.

    I am 19 and still have stuffed animals for the same reason. I got used to sleeping in a certain position, my arm around something, and it stuck. I think it is totally fine, as long as the person isn't emotionally attached to the blanket then there is not a problem.

    My girlfriend is 21 and still sleeps with the blanket she got as a baby, she can't sleep without it. It's obviously a comfort thing, and would be kinda messed up for you to try and tell her to stop using it. It's just a blanket.

    I'm 31 and still have my Bink. Let her have it if it makes her happy. The way I see it, kids are forced to surrender their childhood far too soon anyway.

    Leave the girl alone you asshole. I'm 30 yrs old, have a successful career, own a home, and have a family, and yes...I sleep with a blanky and a stuffed animal. Its comforting. The world sucks and can be cruel. Let the kid have some fucking comfort!

    I don't know why but i use my blanket because its protective and it keeps me comfortable.

    who cares its a piece of fabric. stop sweating smallthings and worry about her doing her homework. a blanket should be the least of your worries at that age.

    I'm 31 and still sleep with mine. It doesn't hurt, it comforts so I don't see the harm! I even take mine with me if I go away on holiday or stay somewhere for the nite

    I am 27 too and still have my blankie from when I was young. I like how it feels on my face, it always has a cool feeling. I sometimes sleep with it at night. I think its normal.

    I am in a long distance relationship, and am 18. I sleep with my hirldriend's t shirt cause it comforts me.

    I still sleep with a blanket or Teddy bear like when I was young. It's a comfort thing that helps lull the mind. (I am 20 btw)

    My brother slept with his blanket named favorite until he was about thirteen too. Maybe even layter. But any waysid say it's pretty normal

    If it's truly only for sleeping then it's fine. All of us use the same blanket everynight, why can't she?

    I never had a blankie or anything...but I kinda relate in that I need to sleep with two pillows. One for my head & one on the side of me to put my arms around or my leg up on. If it makes her comfortable, why would you want to take it away. Shes only 12! You could always introduce to her a body pillow, with a satin cover (put her arms around & the material will stay cold) if your that worried, it could be another option. Ask her.
