19 with slight hand tremors.

I went to the doctor earlier this year and was told that I have a minor case of hand tremors. My doctor didn't explain the causes for it or anything. She discussed other things with me for a couple minutes and left the room. Is it normal that I'm 19 and have slight hand tremors? (I know it's not exactly "normal" for people my age, but is it normal to have it?) Should I see a different doctor about it?

Do you mean like a spasm where you hands shaking suddenly and will not stop? Since I have been getting this type of thing myself since I was 11 years old. I also use to get them in my legs. My father told me it was just overworking muscles and it happens sometimes. Do you ever do any strenuous activity?

  • I have had those since my teens as well. For me it seems neurological. There are hundreds of things that can cause tremors so if that is the only symptom I wouldn't worry about it too much unless it gets disabling. I know quite a few other people who have tremors and while I wouldn't say its normal, it is common.
