15 to be 16--19 year old prom date?

So I just turned 19 and graduating this year. I go to a very small private school where our 09' class has 80 students graduating and being as unpopular as I am I am sure I will not find a prom date. I am not fat or skinny but average, 5 11, 155ibs guy. SInce its a private school, the girls I find to be very immature and annoying as heck. I have tried to look for any potential matches in my class but its impossible to do for I will most likely get laughed at. I can't wait to leave and go out to college where I can meet some real women but my options are limited for a prom date. I do theatre and sing on the side, a passion of mine. A girl in my drama I class, and former one act friend seems okay, very soft spoken, carries herself well, chill, and appears quite mature. She is pretty and all but she is a sophomore in high school and I feel like if I asked her to prom (she is turning 16 in May) it might be too big of an age gap. I have an odd thing for her and feel funny around her, I had gotten to know her in my first semester in an annual one act competition but im not sure if I should ask her since I just turned 19 and she being frickin 15 to be 16. Tell me if this is normal its driving me crazy!

Ask her to prom. Who cares? Just have fun, and don't have sex with her.

Yeah. I have a boyfriend three years older than me. I'm still in highschool and he's already graduated and I know it's perfectly acceptable to like/love someone even if there is an age gap. Age doesn't matter in things like that.

ofc females are going to say its normal...because with female teens theyve developed some kind of thing where its impressive to be 15-16 dating a guy whose 19 turning twenty...hey to each person his own i guess..

i personally think dating a girl much younger than i am just says to the world " hey...i just dont give a crap." it makes me feel like im giving off the vibe that i cant get a girl near my own age..
i suppose three years isnt so much....but it just make me think..if i was in highschool and 16 would i have a problem telling my frineds i have a gf whose 13? o.O
    its just a prom date i suppose..but still...meh

That is different. 3 years isn't just three years in terms of things like this. A large part of it is the ratio.

      13-16 pretty major gap.

18-21 not that much of a difference.

38-41 almost no age gap at all.

      67-70 practically the same age.

Normal! :) I went to prom with a senior my freshman year. Anyone in the highshool range is safe to date, I can't imagine anyone looking down on that. But listen to what everyone else is saying and do NOT sleep with her! Not only because she's under aged, but also because if you really like her, and it sounds like you do, you don't want to take any risks of ruining that so early. And you don't want to make her uncomfortable.

This is normal, man. Just check with the parents. If you are planning to do her, protect your self. Don't listen to the other guys.

hey, i went to prom as a sophomore with a 19 year old senior, i think i was 15 about to be 16 too, and it wasn't really that big of a deal. the age difference wasnt anyways, i think he got a little hurt when i hooked up with his friend at the after party and ended up dating him fo rthe next 6 months, but the age factor didnt cause any stress.

First of all this is completely normal. Its true, age is just a number especially in high school. You're a senior; she's a sophomore... not a big deal at all!

Also no one here mentioned that in high school prom seems like the biggest thing in the world (also normal) but a few months down the line how old your date was wont matter even a little bit. SO go and have a great time, its definitely a good idea to make sure her parents don%%u2019t mind though because that could your change plans really quick.

    DON%%u2019T HAVE SEX WITH HER!!!

Age is just a number. It's fine, hook up with her if you like her. Ignore dumbasses who call you "child molester" or "pedophile". They're stupid. I'm 21 and still atteacted to younger teens. Those who disagree, call me what you will. I don't care. I like what I like :)

If you are attracted to her and enjoy her company then she is not too young.

Yes it's normal to like someone younger. If you really want to take her to the prom, make sure her parents would be ok with it. I would suggest you try a few group dates with mutual friends so you're not alone together. The parents will be more open to this kind of date and they will start to trust you. Then you can go to the prom with her (if she says yes). If they don't want you to go alone with her, make it a group thing again.

I've found that guys tend to like girls a bit younger... nothing too odd. If you were over 21, you'd be a little too old for her...

  • You sound a bit judgmental and that may be why you are not popular. But maybe this girl will go out. Just stop overthinking your age difference - its only 3 years.
