19 never had a job

I've never had a job, I've volunteered quite a bit but never had a paying job. I live at home with my parents while I attend school. But I know I need a job, but for some reason I have this strange anxiety about the actual getting of the job. Like my application will be crap or something. I know I need to get a job, and as I type I'm filling two out. I guess I just someone to tell me I can do it.

Keep in mind I'm aware that I'm long over due for getting a job.
Am I normal?

i'm 19 and still haven't had a job yet either. it is normal. its just really hard to find a job that doesn't require experience and with the economy's downward plunge its hard to find a job even if you do have experience.

First step is often the hardest. If u do land a job be on time, work hard and show your boss you're willing to accept more responsibilty once you get the hang of your position. Even if it's a dead end, shitty first job you'll gain valueable experience and maybe a few connections for future jobs.

You're worrying too much. It's no big deal and you're putting way too much pressure on yourself. I'd say apply for as many jobs as you can and eventually you'll be successful. It's hard being young trying to get into the job market but if you want it badly enough, you'll do it. Good luck =)

  • A first job is a big step into a bit of an unknown world. If you are feeling some self doubts, just look at all the people who are working - they did it, so can you.

How in the world did you make it through high school without a job? Did your parents pay for eveything? If so thats sad.... just apply at wal-mart or a grocery store. Its not rocket science son.
