19 jobs and going

So in the past five years,i have gone by 19 jobs or more. Yeah i know sounds like a lot. Don't get me wrong i am a good worker, but i just can't see myself bending over and humiliating myself for a faceless company. Not to mention that this buyer and seller economy we live in really sucks. Many of the places i have worked in adopt a policy called employee loyalty, meaning that if the company says something, those who don't agree with are bad seeds. This policy also teaches people to bend over and take it and ignore their ideals. Funny how they don't tell us about this in school. Since i graduated i been working from place to place trying to find somewhere i can be proud of the work i do, and truly be respected by my employer (not to mention that in a lot of these places i never met my boss). No such luck, most time i find no meaning in the work i do and feel like my employer just sees me as another gear in a machine. Does anyone share similar thoughts?

Been there, done that. You can try smaller companies that are in slightly different types of business that you may be used to. I will tell you this: Those careers are for a particular breed of person, one of which I am not a clone of....and it doesn't sound like you are that person either. I wanted to be a graphic designer way back when. Huge mistake. The dot coms fell. All that was available was putting car classifieds together. Hated that. Boring, demeaning. Worked as a "design consultant" for a high end furniture store (HA! glorified clerk). The company's ideology sickened me. So not what I stood for. I wanted no part. Worked for a small company and they tried to model themselves off big companies with slogans, protocol, mantras...all bull. I became a teacher. Best schedule ever. No boss breathing down my neck. I am empress of my own domain. Is all school like mine? NO. Am i saying go teach? NO. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but I never thought I'd like it, but I do. Once you've seen all the bad jobs out there, it's crazy where life takes you when you make the decision to make a change.

This means you are a lousy worker. You do not deserve a job and you need to grow up. You can not be picky and say "I do not believe in the company". If you want money you work. If you have had 19 jobs and are saying "To hell" with all of the jobs you get because you do not want to listen you are not a desirable candidate. Honestly I do not see how these companies are still hiring you. You sounds like an incompetent moron. You know how bad the economy is so you should consider yourself blessed you can get a job at all.

Regardless of that stuff which really only matters for people in careers most have to work for these"faceless companies" to get to where they want. So your not really helping yourself putting yourself so high in the make money company goal. Your a worker ant right now gotta deal with it.
I see your point and it's good to let out your real opinion.

What fo you bring to the situation? Harmony or discord? Enthusiasm or hateful attitude? Though challenging, NO ON OR no thing can make it a happy experience. That's where your real job comes into play

  • Companies could teach Orwell about new speak. Loyalty? Yeah well try job security, career paths, training and education, benefits, pay and pensions ... that's employee loyalty. And it was much more that way decades ago than now.

Now, these jerks think you should be grateful just for a job and that they owe you nothing. And you know you'll be out the door on a whim. So you are giving them just what they offer you, as little commitment as you can.

i agree with you, and i don't know if you'll ever find the type of employer you are looking for. it all depends on what you are capable to bring to a job.

you may find something in the non-profit area more to your liking.

most business are about making money, and that's all.

the advice i would offer you though, is to look at what you are doing to your own job record. leaving so many jobs makes it look like you can't settle down and i think at this rate, you will always find yourself at an entry position, which is not very satisfying.

not knowing your skills, have you ever considered being your own boss and starting your own business?
