Im more worried about the threat of a continued lockdown than the virus itself.

Everyone should be. I have a little thought experiment, Why can't you go to a nightclub right now? If you said cause of Covid, you're wrong. Covid's not standing at the club door to stop you from going inside.

You cant go because at some point, the enitre world decided to collectively lockdown. Governments illegaly mandated buisinesses to close. Now months later the goal is... what exactly? They said the vaccine wont stop you from getting and spreading it and only reduces symptoms, so we still need masks and distancing.

So what's the goal here? Cause I remember back in march it was 2 weeks to give them the time to set up hospitals in NY that they never used and took apart months ago. Once this "vaccine" gets out there's literally no goal anymore and we're still going to be living with rolling lockdowns.

Im not on any political side here, I just can't see any conditions of victory here.

I haven't seen any overflowing hospitals or people dropping dead in the street like we were seeing videos of from china in march.

Im not on a political side in this, I don't accept this is a serious disease though based off what I see out in the world while avoiding the news.

What do you think would be a victory condition here? My condition to a return to "normal" is going to a full packed standing room concert. I'll even accept that kind of thing is a bad idea right now, so what's the actual goal we need to meet for this to be a possibility? If a vaccine won't allow this to happen, what's next? Cause this started as a 2 week pause of everyones job to set up hospital space.

We wont return to normal if people like you wont stop being so stubborn. How many more people need to die to get people like you to understand this? 300,000 and rising everyday is like a 911 which at this point is laughable because Americans clearly dont give a shit about American lives because muh freedom and muh businesses. At this point the world should treat america as a plague dont trade or travel to it because its clear its population will never listen to reason. Sucks for the reasonable Americans but maybe they should find a way to get the nutjobs out of government. I am planning on leaving this country maybe I might even head back to south africa even with all the shit that is going on there at least the government is taking the virus seriously.

Okay, so "people like me," what am I doing exactly? Am I going out intentionally trying to get sick? No. Am I refusing to wear masks that actually say on the package they don't prevent viral transmission? No. What exactly am I doing here?

You're just repeating bot talking points from the news and social media. I don't own a buisiness and Freedom is a retarted buzzword now anyway, but if you're okay with the government having the authority to restrict movement you're obviously blind to whats really going on here.

But back to the point, what am I doing? The virus will go away if only I "take it seriously enough?" You get listed as a covid death if you get hit by a bus within 28 days of a positive covid test. The death rate for covid by age mirrors the odds of dying within a year by age. Obesity is allegedly a major contributing factor in younger deaths, why are fast food places not being closed to "save lives?"

911 was a good example to compare it to though, because it was another CIA orchestrated psyop that allowed the creation of a surveilance state to slip by. Keep drinking the flouride and watching your CIA Mockingbird news propaganda stream.

If money isnt coming in and its all going out it cant sustain itself. Thats why the soviet union collapsed. All these stimulus checks help people but the best stimulus is opening up the economy. The govwrnment cant just keep handing out money and it definitely shouldnt be giving money overseas like this last stimulus check called for.

The government can hand out as much money as it wants. There's nothing backing up the money, the entire system is based off imaginary money with debt to back it up. I had somebody a long time ago tell me banks are good because if I put $100 in the bank and somebody borrows it now I have $100, the bank has $100, and the person taking out the loan has $100. Couldn't get him to understand that no, there's still only $100 that's existing and all 3 cant have it at the same time.

The system we have is all based off debt. We're essentialy leasing currency that's privately owned so we can operate at a constant defecit. The only thing that gives the money any value is the government telling you it has value. That's a seperate issue than whats happening here, yeah, they need to open everything up. I don't want old people to die, but its absolutely insane to believe they shut down everything for this long over a strong cold bug that isn't very dangerous to healthy people in any age group.

That's the problem here. Do you really think they're doing all of this, launching constant media fear propaganda, making rules that any idiot can tell do nothing to prevent the spread of viruses, because of a virus that the vast majority of people show no symptoms of? Hard drinking 87 year olds can get it and not even notice? When elderly people with long lists of health problems don't normally get ventillators for bad pneumonia normally? That was the tell for me in the beginning. Anyone at a high risk of dying of covid would NORMALLY be denied life saving medical care if they got REGULAR pneumonia in a time when hospitals WEREN'T getting overrun?

I will say i know some ppl who've gotten it and said it was just a sore throat. Then I know even younger ppl that said it was as bad as the flu. Either way I dont think its bad enough to shut down.

I tried to do my research into how banking works and I just gave up. Its very complex. Its based on IOUs through multiple banks through the country and so on. I dont get it. I have heard the argument that moving off the gold standard was a good idea. Theres smart ppl that argue that. Im not smart enough to form my own opinion on it but I can say I think giving free money away when you dont even have it to give away is bad.

Im not a college graduate or anything. I just know having a currency backed by nothing has never worked long term at any point in history.

IOUs aren't money. There isn't enough money in bank vaults for everyone to take all their money out of the banks. There isn't even enough cash printed.

It doesn't take a smart person to know that's not a good system. Loaning money back and forth creates imaginary money that isn't availible if all of the people involved need the money at the same time.

That money that they get from taxes is already spent when they get it. This year they did not get as much in revenue and they have already gave out more than 3 years of tax income for the whole country. Thats not sustainable.

All viruses mutate, and it's been known that the novel Coronavirus would do this from the start.

The mutation of the 1918 flu virus meant that an illness that wasn't too bad during the first wave turned into something catastrophic in the second wave. But not all virus mutations are bad for the target host species. In fact, there's constant evolutionary pressure on viruses to become less lethal, since a virus that rapidly kills its host won't be passed on, while one that produces only minor illness is more likely to spread.

Anyone who claims to know how this will all play out in the medium- and long-term is talking crap. The best we can hope for is that the vaccines are effective and readily available to anyone sensible enough to want it, and that the virus evolves into something that virtually everyone can shrug off with no more difficulty than the common cold.

Its pretty much agreed that troop movements were what spread the worse strain of spanish flu. Things like ebola don't spread because of how sick they make you. Normally mild strains of the disease spread because people who get really sick stay home.

200,000 cases per day in the US and the death rate is where it was back in march when it was just NY and California. So the virus is either getting weaker, or those "asymptomatic" cases are actually false positives.

We will definitely go back into lockdown in January but there will surely come a time when the government realise that it’s better to release all the restrictions to avoid the growing problems of unemployment, homelessness and depression/suicide than to keep us all in our houses and decimate the economy just for the sake of protecting the old/sickly who have no quality of life anyway.

    Comment Hidden ( show )

    • SmokeEverything

They're going to keep these restrictions as long as morons keep plugged into the news programming and complying with them. People think millions have died from this in the US.

They don't care about destroying the economy. The richest people around are making a ton of money right now off all the drooling idiots impulse buying crap on amazon with stimulus money. There seems to be a link between how strict lockdowns are in places and how willing people are to follow rules that make no sense. People in Europe are rioting against lockdowns right now.

Not sure about other places but around here all the old people have basically stopped giving a fuck and gone back to life as normal. Its mostly the younger people still hiding in their houses acting like going to a bar is the same as raw fucking a plague corpse.

We had a couple BS astroturfed protests about how people are sad they can't get their hair and nails done, News media wont seriously cover anyone with a legit concern about suicide or homelessness. Cali is locked down like north korea and from what I hear Florida is basically just life as normal and nobody gives a fuck. Florida has way less cases than Cali.

I heard some shortwave stuff that people in Europe were rioting because the lockdowns had gotten so bad. Im in NY, everybody's blindly following dumb rules here too. Bars are open but nobody goes to them, we actually have a 10pm curfew on bars restaurants and bowling alleys. Cause the virus only spreads after 10:01 pm until 5am. Other day I was riding my bike with no mask and I had a guy walk out into the middle of a poorly lit main road at night to avoid being less than 6 feet away from me for 1 second. You know, for safety.

Only 300,000 have died nobody is saying millions died in the states. Most Americans I spoken to agree on this. Who are you speaking too? Globally it has killed a couple million so its not wrong to point that out. Are you watching conservative media because they are the only ones acting like everyone else is insane when they are being the unreasonable ones.

        Comment Hidden ( show )

        • SmokeEverything

I don't watch any media. I base this off what I see around me. Old people on oxygen tanks don't get lifesaving medical care for pneumonia in normal times, so the argument that this is being done to save hospital beds for elderly frail dementia patients is a lie. They shuffle those people right into hospice anyway. I don't agree with it, but that's what happens. How do you feel about old people locked away like prisoners in nursing homes for their own protection? I know somebody who works in a nursing home says the patients are giving up on life and dying from broken hearts.

If this was such a deadly pandemic you wouldn't have to require people to wear masks or try to guilt and coerce them into getting a vaccine. You'd be treating masks like dirty needles, not dropping them all over the street like I see around here. You wouldn't need a 24/7 propaganda campaign infiltrating all media to remind people about the plague.

If you compare risk of dying from covid by age according to CDC with the odds of dying within a year by age, you notice a really close correlation.

          https://www.ssa.gov/oact/STATS/table4c6.html

So yes, people acting like going to bars is the equivalent to fucking a plague corpse are being unreasonable.

Yes, we should let 80 year old care home residents die rather than let young, working age people lose their jobs/houses and kill themselves. But since you’re obviously the type to blindly believe everything you hear/read, there’s no point arguing with you on this.

        Comment Hidden ( show )

        • SmokeEverything

The only argument necessary is that an 86 year old has almost the exact same chance of living another year as they do surviving covid. Gues what, same for a 27 year old, a 44 year old, and a 65 year old. Roughly the same odds of being part of a percentage of people that age who die before their next birthday, as surviving covid.

Outside of accidents, it would seem that in ALL age groups the only people who really need to worry are people who are in terrible health. "Durr, but how do some 90 year olds survive while some 30 year olds die?" Because some 90 year olds run marathons and some 30 year olds sit around eating french fries and smoking crack all day.

Stamp covid deaths on deaths that were already going to happen in terminally ill people, you get to now declare a state of emergency and create a fascist state by destroying all independent buisiness and heavily censoring the internet.
