You are californians

Most of you are Californians. You are slightly arrogant and you think that everyone else in the United States should adopt your way of life. You talk to everyone in a 'customer service' voice and use pop-psychobabble like 'toxic' and 'projection' to describe every bad vibe you get from someone as a form of abuse necessitating that you put greater distance between yourself and whomever it is giving you said vibes. You wouldn't dare discriminate against a blind goat in the hiring process when looking for an art critic, but you wouldn't trust a Scorpio to make your vegan latte for you. You are 35 and still live with your parents because of the prohibitive cost of living in your state. You complain about exorbitant rent prices but your high-schooler's understanding of economics leads you to protest the construction of new housing. You deprive yourself of vital nutrients during one of your little fad diets and mistake the disorientation for having achieved 'enlightenment.' You promote body positivity and loving yourself and others, but you have spent enough money on cosmetic surgery to jump start the economy of a small country.

The worst people live here. It’s a shame because the state is beautiful.

Most of the people on this site are closer to the average Texan than they are the average Californian. The cost of living bit isn't exclusive to California, by the way. That's just a city-versus-rural situation.

It has to do with zoning as well. LAs issue is they continue to prioritize providing permits to developers building sub division over developers building affordable housing like apartment buildings. Where cities in Texas hand out permits to whoever asks and makes it much cheaper to live there.

People really live a sheltered life if you think this is unique to California. Stop spreading the hate.

Even with its faults I love California. If you avoid the large cities you can find affordable housing and NorCal where I live is beautiful with a huge Farmers Market and large variety of restaurants, even in a rural area.

There's a reason so many people live here.

I'm not even American... I've been to the States and I would fit in if I ever decided to move to the US (I own guns, I like cars, I love barbecues and I'm a big NASA and SpaceX fan), but I'm Bulgarian.

I think the writer of this post envies Californians, I'm actually an Australian and I don't care who makes my vegan latte, I'm just a regular Joe struggling to be an Epicurean and gain approval, having meals with wine, trusting an Aries to be silly, weird and absurd because my housemate, not an Aries, is like that, he's out of the normal, acting strange and childish sometimes, it frustrates me when he's pointing and laughing at me, I think at the peak of his usual behaviour it's time for his medicine, because if you get downright strange, or troublesome it's a sign the medicine's wearing off, this has nothing to do with California, but Australia has a lot of weird and strange people and nincompoops.
