Why would my ex contact me about money? iin?

My ex whom I was with for many years contacted me recently. I thought he was going to say something else but instead he asked me if I could pay back the $300 he lent me in 2014. This is weird because he has a job, its only $300 and he never mentioned this $300 ever again and it's been years.

He broke up with me a year ago and I just dont get it. Is it normal for an ex to ask for money back from over 4 years ago?

    4 years is a long time to ask for a pay back.. You should pay him back otherwise he legally is allowed to harass you. Maybe its what he wants

    Do you owe him the money or not? If you do, then pay him. What's the problem? And why should he even have to ask you for it even 4 years later? You should have already paid him off, regardless of whether or not he can afford to go without it. It is your debt and your responsibility. The bank has more money than me but I still have to pay them for my mortgage. You make him sound like the bad guy but you are the one that is the deadbeat.

    This is why I keep tabs on who I lend money out to. Need to be snappy about the return payment. Also always get it in writing.
