Why is it that many men date younger women but if a woman

But if a woman dates let's say just 5 years younger it's made into a big deal.

Like a 30 year old woman with a 25 year old man. Why is it totally normal for a 30 year old man but when it's reversed it's like woah you're rocking the cradle, wow sugar momma etc

What's the deal with that?

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

I dunno, I've never been a fan of young women dating older men, because older men used to hit on me a lot when I was young, it always made me really uncomfortable.

It's a maturity thing, women generally mature faster than men, although they're always exceptions.

I used to date a woman 5 years older. Best sex of my life.

That stereotype has eased a lot these days.

Being slightly older in most cases is a form of dominance (put 5 10 year olds in a room with a 15 year old. He will usually become the dominant presence of the group because hes older). Men are naturally seen as the dominant sex in terms of the body, while women arw usually smarter. Just reread this and think about it for a moment. Dont read until you get it>

And that my friend, is whats up with it

You have The Correct Answer. This Needs more likes Asap. Thats exactly what it is. However. A Younger man of the right Dominant Presence can make a woman older than him a submissive.

Are you a 30 year old woman dating a 25 year old man? Don't worry about what people say. You're both legal adults enjoying life and that's what matters.

A five year gap ain't that bad. A bit on the older side but eh who cares.

The real determining factor here is who initiated the dating. The older person or the younger.

Why does it matter who initiated it? They're in the same age group

When younger (I'm now 71) I had dates with many ladies older than me, we just enjoyed each other.

I mean biologically men can procreate later in life than women can from in that regards- that is why you see a lot of divorced men marry younger women and have multiple families.

Women don't peak sexually until their mid thirties so they often will seek out a younger man with an equally strong libido for recreational sex, but young men often aren't emotionally or financially stable enough for women wanting to settle down and have a family though.

Most of the stereotypes that existed for these reasons have eroded as men and women are choosing to have families later or not at all.

  • Anything that deviates from the norm will be considered abnormal. Women typically get with men of equal or higher age, the reverse happens far less.

Doesn't mean there's anything wrong with it but that's why.

I'll give you two words: Evolution, fertility.

I think in the modern world though people care less about dating an older woman though, especially for an age gap as small as 5 years. I don't think it's a "big deal", but I can see where you're coming from with this; it's seen as unusual.

The only times I've ever heard such things are posts on this website, and they can never seem to decide which direction the bias goes. It makes me think that, perhaps, there is no such bias, and people are making it up in their minds.
