As someone who is what most would call wealthy, I say that people, no matter social class, are skrewed up. My whole family is in therapy and takes meds. No one in my family has any serious issues, but we struggle with perfectionism. We always need to look and act perfect, and that takes a toll on us. We like to sit there and talk about our feelings without any fear of being judged or having our secrets spread around for the enjoyment of others. Also we have money to spend.
They have the money for therapy. Therapy is expensive. And it's a long-term commitment.
That's right. People of all different levels of wealth have mental and emotional problems. But the poorer people cannot usually afford therapy, they'd go just as much as the rich if they could.
Don't forget the time it takes to go to therapy, as well. Better jobs give you paid sick leave and paid holidays and let you pool your hours together and take flexi-time, and you get more money for doing fewer hours. It'd be a struggle for a lot of us hard-up folk to find either the time or the money for therapy.
rich people are not happy with being average they need to excel to feel normal then when they have all this money and success they realize the had to eat little balls of shit on tooth picks at that party to remain in the club of rich. drives them bat shit crazy.
I'm kinda rich and I'm not in therapy but I know loads of other rich people in therapy.
For some it is just 'trendy'.
You can spot those people in a lot of cases because they refer to them as "analysts"
Money is the ultimate therapy. You see rich people in therapy because they are simply buying friendship. To win friends, you have to be a nice person. Fuck that.
Perhaps they equate massive wealth with some misplaced ideal that they can & should live a perfect life.
When things aren't going well in their lives that involves their percieved mental wellbeing it's off to therapy.
Also known as the 'worried well'.
