Why are people against/offended by guys being complimented?

Pretty much if you see a girl's pic/video online, say youtube or reddit, you will get a bunch of commenters saying how she's hot or they wanna fuck her. but you never see that towards dudes. also, it's acceptable and encouraged that people have fetishes for "ugly" women (ie., fat, weird, etc.) but if anyone feels that way towards a guy with the same features it is much less popular and even looked down upon with disgust. why?

    I think it's because male sexuality typically values the looks and the physical, while female sexuality typically values deeper emotional connection and being provided for. So in practice, women are judged more on their looks while men are judged more on what they can offer a woman in resources. Not saying that's the ONLY think people look for in partners, but it takes precedence.

    I've noticed when it's gay people involved, what's valued doesn't change. Gay men (usually) place incredible emphasis on how other men look too, while the lesbians... well, a lot don't care about looks, we can see that.

    I'm not some SJW saying that, I don't think that's societal conditioning. I think it runs very deep biologically, going back into prehistory and maybe even before we fully evolved.

    Some guys are very quick to take a compliment from a girl as an invitation, and many girls want to be careful what they say.

    A lot of women don't take it as a compliment if just any guy says she's hot, and definitely not if they say they would love to fuck her. And a guy saying a girl is hot is often automatically translated to "I want to fuck her".
