Why are hassidic/orthodox jewish people so rude?

I have jewish friends and don't have a problem with jewish people at all, but any of the hassidic people I deal with at work (The ones that come in with the garb and black hats) Are extremely rude and nasty. Half the time its like they don't want to interact with you any more than is absolutely necessary and look at you like you're less than them. They just generally don't seem like nice people. I know there are assholes in every group but this behavior seems ingrained in their culture

    One of my best friends is Jewish and he can't stand those types. He told me that they act like assholes, because they genuinely believe that they are better than other people.

      I think it might be a consequence of the way they only really want to associate with people of their own group, and they're all constantly telling each other that they are god's chosen people so they start to believe they are actually better than anyone else.

          I deal with a lot of them at work, and for the most part they certainly seem to think they're better than everyone else. I heard they believe that all gentiles have lesser souls and stuff

            Yeah, that's why I don't feel sorry for them if anyone gives them a hard time. Also my Jewish friend said that the Hassidics he has encountered have body odor.

    They're frustrated because they're only allowed to have sex through a hole cut into a bedsheet. It's true and nothing anybody says will convince me otherwise.

      That's messed up. I know they arent allowed to talk to any non relatives of the opposite gender

    Like you said, there are assholes in all groups. I'm Jewish/Agnostic and probably wound't get along with most people who are religious conservatives because our beliefs clash. Just try to stay open minded, maybe it's just that particular community of hassidic people.

      I'm not talking about jewish people in general, just the hassidic ones. My jewish coworker tells me they actually look down on regular non-orthodox jews worst of all.
