What time is it?

Assuming time is real, please answer the following questions.....

1= How long would it take to get to a point in time that is forever away?
2= If time NEVER began... then how long would it take to get to now?

Take away all the stars, planets, etc....

    1. Forever.

    2. Impossible to answer, the question contradicts itself. If there's no such thing as time, you wouldn't be able to ask how long would it take.

If your second answer is true, your first answer is false.

Incorrect. They're not correlated. The second one begins with "If time NEVER began..." while the first one follows "Assuming time is real..." Complete opposite situations.

  • I don't know if the questions are meant to be related, so I'll give my opinion on them individually.

"1= How long would it take to get to a point in time that is forever away?"

Since forever is a limitless period of time, that "point" would begin once you decide to seek it- now.

Forever is also a continuum, so you would be at the point for the rest of time.

Imo, distinctions in time are arbitrary. They're convenient points based upon the whole that don't define the whole itself.

"2= If time NEVER began... then how long would it take to get to now?"

My answer for this goes back to my point about all points in time being arbitrary. Only God could possibly understand or control time.

From my perspective, it's not you that just is; it's time that is. The passage of it exists whether it's named or perceived by anything.

Maybe time could be considered a type of space that is constantly spreading.

To say that time isn't real, basically means that that's phantom space, which can't be true.

When plot points are placed on time, the space between those points is certainly real, not just perception. We can feel and see its effects all around us.
