What is wrong with being a slut? A man is expected to have sex with as many women as he wants and he is praised for it but when a woman does the same she is called slut. Why the double standards? Why can't women do what they want without being shamed for it?

I agree with Kim. There are no sluts any more. Women have as much sexual freedom as a man, mainly thanks to advanced birth control. When I see another girl out on the town in a micro skirt and high heels having a good time i think - go girl!
This is not a troll, this is my genuine response. Personally, I think this is just another form of the sexism that exists towards men in the modern-day 21st-century western world. Women are viewed as goddesses, so if you associate with them, then your reputation improves.
In contrast, men are viewed as slaves and pigs, so if you continuously associate with them, then you get stigmatized. This is also why gay men are equally judged, but lesbians couldn't be more respected.
Of course, this is all just my perception.

The bad ' slut '
1. The one that discusses it around co- workers afterwards. Using names.
2. The one that brings one night stands home around their kids.
3. The careless ones that end up with kids they didn't plan,want, or care about.
4. The lady with 4 kids from 4 guys that's out being a slut.
Instead of raising her kids.

I think it's the standards men and women set for one another through coincidental collected preferences.
Personally, I wouldn't want a "slut" for a partner, I'd see them as a bit too loose if that makes sense? Maybe if it was a quick fling, sure, but nothing serious. If the woman had been with numerous men prior, as in serious relationships that she's tried hard to make work, then I could look past that.
I think the difference is that most men (my opinion) don't want a woman that's been around with a ton of guys, that they see them as easy, and therefor easy to sway their loyalties in a committed relationship. I'd also say that it is a genuine thing to be worried about although I obviously can't say it's always the case.
Why I think men tend to be looked high upon for having a lot of sex with different women is because it's not an easy feat to obtain. I'd say it has a lot to do with the gender standards, again, which men and women have created themselves. Women are to be impressed, women are to choose. So if a man sleeps around a lot with standard women then he's doing something to impress women, and if I'm not mistaken women tend to look at a man as a better sexual choice if this is the case.
There's also a view I heard that's maybe interesting to mention is that a woman that sleeps around with a lot of men is a slut, I'm sure we've heard this. In the gay community a man that sleeps around a lot is also a slut. I haven't heard much about women being sluts if they sleep around with other women, though.
Maybe the difference is that the more men you sleep with makes you a slut, being the more you let a negative be intimate with you, the more shameful you are. Who knows.
Personally, I don't care much if a woman is a slut or not. Not my business and if it came to it I'd get to choose if I gave someone who people would describe as a "slut" my time in regards to intimacy. Let sluts be sluts and let fuckboys be fuckboys because in the end it's still you who decides if they're welcome in your life.
Agree that double standards are unfair and illogical, and agree that consenting adults should be free to have as much sex as they can get.
Far less sure if it's a positive thing for anyone to make having sex with someone new everyday the prime focus of their life. But I'm just a sentimental old fuddy-duddy.
Honestly, I don't give a fuck how much a girl has sex. There's nothing wrong with that. But when a girl flirts with and wants to get with every guy taken or single, that really pisses me off and is an obvious problem. In the end I feel like for most people it's not all the sex you're having it's the fact you come onto every guy. It's a nightmare for girlfriends since guys are so easy to get in bed with, that's why girls usually hate whores and some men don't mind them.

Sluts and Man whores are both disgusting! Both of these people ruin relationships because they love to fuck with different people in 1 year. Your only a slut or a man whore if you are in a relationship with a loyal partner and you fuck with lots of people behind your main relationship, this makes you disgusting in the inside and on the outside.
