What happens when you turn 20?

I am turning 20 this month and I am curious to find out what's going to happen. I feel like 20 isn't a really interesting birthday. Other than the obvious, does anything change when you turn 20?

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

    Your anus explodes.

There is about 27% chance of your eye color changing to purple, eyerape pink or rainbow.

You also have to chose your allegiance in the Pineapple on Pizza War.

Other than that, it's pretty boring.

Nothing really changes unless you make things happen.

Because things change as you get older. For example when you turn 16 you can get a driver's license.

But yet you can still drive anyways under 16. You just dont have to let any local officials know about it.

There is something more substantial than wordplay. And age-play.

Both are artificial things people come up with. People THINK at a certain age you have to act a certain way.

        You dont.

Its part of personality. Thats what it is. If you like to have fun and be free and play around like me, then thats not part of age, but part of your personality.

People just recognize a kid being a kid because of kids' personality traits. Same with adult.

People recognize adults usually as being boring or strict, because of the traits associated with most adults.

Its like a stereotype. But theres nothing wrong with loving anime until you die. Or jumping on a trampoline. These are just things you like to do. In reality it has nothing to do with age. People just like to put that stereotypical label on shit.

And thats why you have the term "man-child". Its a dumb term.

If more adults had more fun, instead of always having responsibilities, then that term and this stereotype that adults cant have fun, would be broken.

Your still young at the age of 20. The only reason you think anything is different, is because the english language tricks you into believing that.

You go from a number with the word TEEN in it, to a number with no teen.

Doesnt mean shit. Your still young and thats how it is. Look at yourself as the same.

And when you turn 18, the cashier can sell you cigarettes legally. When you turn 21, the cashier can sell you alcohol legally.

All the above depends where you live. This is the internet, not America.

Well you stop becoming a teen and people care even less about your problems. They expect you to grow up and live your life like everyone else (They being society). Everyone will still ask you if you're ok and if you say no they'll ask you what's wrong, they'll tell you to cheer up and to stop being depressed as though it's a crime to be unhappy (when in reality they're inconvenienced by your sadness).
You're expected to buy gifts for people you don't like and be polite to assholes.
Basically it's all about who can lie better after the age of 20.

You start to question if you are living what you love. Depression sets in as you see everyone around you becoming instagram famous and you're still a sack of potatoes living in your mothers basement and haven't unlocked any achievements since puberty. Your depression worsens as you start to develop severe anxiety and pick up drinking as a way to cope with your sad and pathetic life. Drinking turns into alcoholism and you start selling drugs to pay for your addiction. Soon you are arrested and convicted on several accounts for selling drugs to minors after school.

This is when your life gets flipped, turned upside down. You decide to get a degree (after getting out of prison) and turn your life into what you love, becoming a productive member of society. You work your way to the top to become CEO of your own advocacy group "Depression, Anxiety, Alcohol, and YOU!" You help save countless lives from the same path you walked, giving meaning to your life, once again.

Every decade for me is a new mission in life. Your twentieth birthday is quiet. But the decade that follows is turbulent. Finishing college, starting a career, and skills for committed relationships take LOTS of initiative. The danger is to become a drifter. Don't be a drifter, it is extremely difficult to recover.

You have to surrender your teenager card. But that is about all.

Nothing really changes. Every decade has it's good and bad points. Personally I think your 20s are some of the best years of your life because you are still young and most people finish university if you went to university and graduate, the level of drama and immaturity you have to put up with goes down greatly compared to your teenage years, you start working full time in the career you studied for, you start making more money and find you can afford to going on holiday more and 20s is one of the best times to travel, a lot of people move out of home and get their own place which gives them real freedom to do what they want when they want.

I understand that everyone is different and there is nothing wrong with a person that does not get all that in their 20s as some don't but I just listing a lot of things that a lot of people get in their 20s. Your 20s is a good deacde to live in as since you tend to start earning more money you can start doing more things and enjoying things more and like I said your still young.

The second digit changes to a "2" and you are officially not longer a teenager.

The same as every day... You get older by one day.

you will probably wake up that day, feeling strange inner urgency, as if it's time for you to take on something new, exciting and big. your instinct will drive you off to climb a faraway mountain and upon reaching the top, you will discover you have superpowers.

if absolutely none of those things happen tho, don't worry. it's normal.

Nothing changes, though there may be jurisdiction where you live that changes legal position regarding such things as consumption of legal drugs, responsibility for motor vehicles, sexual activity, etc.
