What do you think of mcdonald's making happy-meals for adults?

They're supposedly gonna make nostalgic happy-meals for adults, with those old 80s-90s toys included. How do you feel about that?

I see nothing wrong with it.

Though I saw what the toys look like and I'll pass. McDonald's collaborated with a fashion brand for this one and they made the classic Micky D characters look like aliens. I don't understand some of the collabs companies have these days. It always seems to uglify an item.

I just looked them up and they’re hideous, what’s the purple blob even supposed to be?

Purple blob? That's Grimace. He's one of the retro McDonalds Characters. The Other two retro characters in the set are Birdie and The Hamburglar. The smiley face toy is some guy the fashion brand owns or something.

I really don't get why they don't have one for Ronald McDonald. I miss that stupid clown mascot. XD

Old grimace looks so cuddly, I’d definitely have liked him as a kid. I heard they phased out Ronald McDonald after the 2016 killer clown controversy.

Yeah I suppose that was one of the reasons they phased him out. I feel like enough time has passed that everyone has forgotten about the clown stuff. XD

Fun fact: Grimace originally had four arms. He was a villain who stole milk shakes.

I get so much joy watching retro commercials from the 50s-80s. They're mostly from a time period I never lived through but it's fun watching a human time capsule of a bygone era. XD

This is a clear example of the infantilization of our society. Nobody wants to be an adult anymore.

I don't see an issue with enjoying kiddy stuff as long as it doesn't get in the way of things needed to survive.

I like plushies, anime, video games, and I still dress like I did when I was a teen. At the same time I still pay all my bills on time, I go to work five days a week, I exercise four days a week, and I can budget for just about anything. XD

Aren't they just Big Mac meals with a more high value collectable? I guess it would be good for people that collect that sort of thing.

Why should an Adult not have the privileged of being happy when they eat a fast food meal.

This targets the people who don't want to be depressed by what and where they eat.

From a moneymaking standpoint, it's good. But if you consume this, it's (you're) stupid.

I don't care. I only go to Mcdonalds when I'm on the road and hungry, or get a weird crave for a double chili-cheese burger.

I didn't even like the happy meal as a kid, since the toys were mostly crap. Very rarely did they have toys I liked - vehicles.

I only order Happy Meal when im at mcdonalds. Its what I got used to as a kid and I almost never eat mcdonalds so its still what im used to. I'd love a nostalgia Happy Meal.

I don't think it's any less sad than an adult ordering a regular happy meal. I know it sounds harsh, especially coming from a guy that plays video games, but I think if you're going through McDonald's and asking for a happy meal (for yourself), something's wrong. In fact, the first red flag was that you were going through McDonald's.

I wouldnt eat fast food if you gave me $500. It's too unhealthy. Its nice being married and getting steaks and shit cooked fresh daily. No need to eat junk.

An adult happy meal should include porn. Maybe pictures of Mayor McCheese butt-fucking The Grimace. Oh, and a free sex toy.

You just need to eat at the right restaurants. A few with similar services do exist.

I’m not the target audience for this but I have friends who would probably get one if they came to the UK and had decent toys, there’s certainly a market for it.
