What are your priorities in anwersing is it normal questions?

I notice some posts get more comments than others and the ones which seem and are indeed more serious don't get as much attention. Is it a metter of unfair judgement or because its hard to talk about the serious subjects like suicide?

I try to answer things I actually have knowledge to answer with. Or in the case of heavy topics, I have to be in the right frame of mind.

I'm a lot more careless with the simple questions that don't require much thought.

The more serious ones tend to have a multitude of problems that I probably don't have the qualifications to actually give advice to.

I mainly focus on things that are either interesting, I knowledgeable in, or things with few answers.

I try to answer things I think I know I can answer. I'm not qualified to answer more heavy topics and I try to stay away from obvious troll posts.

Lots of questions here are of trolls which deserve to be reported. It is sometimes hard to discern which is a troll question and which isn't. I respond to questions which i think are legit. Plus the question has to be clearly written(not too lengthy, paragraphs etc)

Think of IIN as a cheap children's bedtime story. If the posts are too inane like this one, the audience falls asleep. If the posts are too analytical / critical the audience falls asleep. So, Baby Bear's porridge was just right? Ah ha, Goldilocks posts get all the action.

I know I have a tendency to drone on and on in my replies to some questions, and I'm sure most members wince and skip over my walls of text. But that's fine by me, since those responses aren't aimed at other users; they're directed at the OP.

Contrary to what some world leaders believe, it isn't always possible to address complicated issues in no more than 280 characters.

Dude, chill. I read your shit. Contrary to the faith of the electorate, we have a few world leaders who cannot comprehend concepts requiring more than 280 characters to express.

I like to think that I give thoughtful answers on some of the heavier questions, but I probably do tend to troll people a bit on the questions where the poster is asking something that is kinda messed up, and degenerate.

  • If a think I know shit, then I type shit. If there's somebody I can make fun of, then I'll comment as well.

Sometimes even if I am interested in a question I wouldn't comment just because I don't really have a strong opinion on it either way.

I try to answer questions I know something about. If someone has a really long, really complicated post about psychological problems, they should probably seek professional help. Doubt anyone on here is of much use.

I answer stuff that piques my interest (which includes subjects I'm knowledgeable in) and also if a question sounds like a young person going through a tough time then I'd want to try and help if possible - Eg struggling with sexuality, parents doing stuff they shouldn't, not fitting in etc

For me, I like to answer things I actually have knowledge about.

For people like Jen, they just like to get attention and come across as a whore.

If it seems interesting and intelligent then yeah I read it and maybe offer my opinion.

Usually though if it's something dumb like asking if it's normal to enjoy smelling their dog's farts then yeah, probably some 13 year old who competed in the special olympics.

Yeah, the dog-fart question is clearly troll. Obviously, everyone does that.
