Welfare moms

I hate it when single mothers on welfare go out and find another man and get pregnant again. It just bugs the hell out of me. Some have no proper place to live, no car, no savings, no education or even food and clothes for the children they already have and then go and find some other loser and get pregnant again. It just bugs me. I see them all the time walking in the mall spending their welfare cheques getting there hair and nails done. Example (octomom)Why do women do this?

There is a thing called birth control or abstinence! Unless you were raped there really isn't an excuse to have three kids with three different men! And I'm not trying to be cruel because I believe in government help, but only if its used as a stepping stone to get in a better place & be independent. Some people just use it for the rest of their lives & that's not cool. Instead of just giving hand outs they really should pay for training programs to make people more self sufficient.

OMG!!!!!! I feel totally the same. The government needs to seriously enforce stricter regulations on people living on welfare. There are people who need it, but a majority are lazy, ambitionless, sleazy-scum bags who want to live off my parents hard earned money. It annoys me sooooooo much when people take advantage of the system, and because they know they can they will continue to do so.

It is now known what causes pregnancy and it can easily be prevented. If sex is your way of attracting men then use condoms or birth control, available free at the clinic.

i agree they should take more precautions not to get pregnant if they dont have the money to support a child

Exactly! If you cannot afford to take care of every child you have, without assistance from anyone, you should not have children!

Taking or not taking precautions isn't always the issue. My wife has some relatives who deliberately got pregnant out of wedlock because they knew they would get a check.

In my opinion, if you're on welfare, you should not only need a drug test, but also do community service or public works project before you are allowed to collect on welfare or else you can starve in the streets. Most nations are this way and I wish this one would think that way.

They actually had a welfare to work program in Detroit that Michael Moore critisized in his bowling for columbine video. The woman had to get on a bus and work minimum wage every day. The mayor or whatever of the town said it wasnt productive to have them do work to pay back for the resources they were using and him and moore agreed it was a good idea to just have her be with her kids and useless all day.

Problem is everyone can become low income it isnt mandatory to get a job. She willingly accepts to work for minimum wage when she could get a decent paying job at one of the car factories. People might say that she shouldnt have to do dangerous work but we all drive cars so exactly who deserves to need to put their life at risk for your driving pleasures?

If everyone just gets preggers and poor and needy that who will be out there to sustain your lifestyle? If everyone is there collecting checks whos going to go to work to mail the checks out?

Police state vs starving people I would have to go with starving people. A police state takes all your freedoms and you might as well kill yourself if you live in socialism cause your life will never be better just the same dull flat line it will always be. People will eventually get sick of starving and do something about it.

I do not think anyone is talking about that situation. They are talking about the woman who keeps having kids expecting the welfare system to foot the bill. a person does not go get a dog if they cannot feed it.

Not all moms that are on welfare are like that. My mom used to be on welfare when I was a kid. She was laid off, due to budget cuts. She was a teacher. Anyway, she used it until all of that bs settled and was able to get another teaching job. She made an effort to find jobs and found one. She didn't enjoy being on Welfare at all. She was ashamed to have to get public assistance, but she swallowed her pride and did what she had to do to make sure my sister and I had something to eat. We didn't have a merry old time and fabulous feasts that were bought by foodstamps. My mom didn't use welfare for us to enjoy ourselves and pretend that we living the good life. She made sure that we knew that welfare is used as a last resort and if happens to use it strictly as a way to help us get back on our feet. That's it. No welfare parties lol.

Don't judge all women on welfare if you've never lived it. And anyway, you said that you see these women spending their welfare checks at the mall or whatever. How do you know that they're on welfare? You have some kind of crazy welfare mom radar? Oh wait no you use profiling. Oops, my bad...Calm that judgemental shit down.

Yes it should be a temp fix only, but I know "people" who have been in the system for 4 generations.
Welfare was set up with good intentions, but it has got out of hand. Obama is the food stamp and welfare king, the more people he can get in the system the more support the libs will have.
Obummer will have another term, the electroral voters have already spoke. The people in America do not elect a prez.

If there "welfare moms" have paid their taxes, then I am afraid it is no-ones business what they claim because it would then be fair to say it's their money, and these "welfare mums did not get pregnant on their own, why don't people ever judge these run away fathers instead of targeting innocent women who want to be mums? x

  • mama<3

Its hard to judge people. Some moms on welfare are leaches, but others are out of bad relationships or abandoned by the partner they thought loved them and the kids and honestly need to be on welfare.
You don't get much money from the government and can't keep child support so I can't see it as a place where someone would stay after the time they actually need it unless they are truly just lazy.
The priority is the kids not the moms, thats what welfare is for. To make sure they have a home and food.

I am on welfare, and have got 3 children. I was with a man (father of all 3 kids) for 16 years. We have a mortgaged house, he worked and I worked part time from home. I found out he was cheating on me with prostitutes, and the relationship ended. I have no choice than to be on welfare for the time being as My youngest is one. I cant say its the life I planned but I do get fed up with the comments because people assume we are all the same, and choose this way of life. I certainly didnt but I cant help what my ex did, and now he only sees the kids 1 hour a week, his choice, and we have had 2 sets of summer holidays, plus xmas etc, and he hasnt taken them out once. I feel myself and kids are suffering, after all he has 2 bikes, gym membership and a car, and a very good social life and wage, and all we have is welfare to live on, so a break from people tarring us with the scrounging brush would be nice!!

im a single mom [boyfriend doesnt count] and i refuse to use the system. yes, my son's grandparents helped alot, but ive never been one to accept charity. my mom refused too get off her ass and get a job bc they would cut her disability check, not even thinking that a decent job would more than make up the difference, and i swore i would never ever live off the government. so i work my butt off. anyone who chooses to live off the system, and have more children when they cant afford the first one should be ashamed of themselves. that child/ those children deserve(s) better.

I'm torn on the subject. I think welfare is necessary. Some people just fall on hard times. No one is perfect! Shit happens and people lose their jobs. BUT I think you were mainly referring to women who just jump in and become baby machines.

I don't think anyone should have restrictions on the number of children they have. BUT..I do think there should be some sort of limit or restriction so that people cant sit on their asses all damn day and do nothing. Having people do community service to 'repay' welfare while they are recieving it if they are able I think is a good idea.

My mother is a hardworking woman and one day she fell in a depression where the doctor advised her to take sometime off from work.

I was 17 when the welfare office forced me to start working. I was sent to a "job search" program, if I didn't go they will stop giving my mother money. They wanted my income to count in my mother's household income so they could decrease the money they were giving us. How can my income support my brother, mom and I in a 1,000 (cheapest rent/month in new york)apartment??

Anyway, they put in a room with adults who had a hard time finding jobs because they had committed felonies. I was the youngest person there, everyone one else was in their 30's . It was extremely depressing and humiliating and the program wasn't useful since they didn't allow me to go outside, just to stay inside and have people make me feel miserable about the fact that my family was on welfare. It was a hard time for my family.

Eventually, I left high school for good, so that I can find a full-time job and support myself. I also had to move out of my house into a bedroom at a friends, which is all I could afford in new york on my full-time job.

why just pick on the welfare moms btw i dont think octomom was ever on welfare. I hate seeing women have babies for dumb reasons period. dont get me started on young girls tht want to have a baby so they can have somnething to love.

ppl should be responsible period why these women keep haveing babies is beyond me some might have a unnatural attractioin with being pregnant some just want love some want to screw the system. some dont know any better but

if you want to know why just stope them in the mall and ask or better yet work at the nail salon and chat them all up u might even get some just make sure and put on a rubber we dont want another one of you

    ---------------
    Alright where shall I begin.

Well for starters, I'm a single mother of a beautiful five yr. old, daughter named Imani. Yes I was defined as the term "young & dumb" and I "slipped up" I guess you can say.
    =)
When I was pregnant with her, I was on welfare up until she was two and believe me, even though it was tempting to stay in the "system" until she was seven, I choose not to because of what you're stating now. The only reason I went into the 'system' was because my parents wanted to show me the difference between making my money & depending on the welfare checks and also they weren't supporting me. (harsh bt true.)

I'm very educated, with a proper place to live, a mustang, and a very very nice savings amount so my daughter can get whatever her little heart desires (she's FAR from spoiled lol!) So obliviously, I haven't RUINEd my life as one person so rudely commented in an earlier post.

I understand that you think that all of welfare moms are like this, but you have to understand that majority of welfare moms have no choice. What about the moms who have disabled sons or daughters who can't afford the medical bills even if they have a well paying job? What about the moms who are on welfare because they are sick but have no choice but to take care of her family. That's where welfare jumps in and helps.

I agree 100%% that the welfare system needs to tighten up their restrictions just a little. But trust and believe, the people that suddenly get on the right track and get off welfare, will DEFINITELY be paying that money back. How so? because the government taxes the shit out of them that's how.

people should be limited to having three children max. then they would have to be more careful about who they go with, and they won't be out breeding us. after than, a tying of tubes. reversable, if need be, and also less expensive then pills that have no guarantee that they won't be sold or tossed. less babies, less welfare. They system needs to be revamped too.

So your solution is to get rid of welfare. What about a single mother who has been widowed, had to flee from violent parteners or what if a women is raped and decides to go through with her pregnancy. Should these women let their children starve because of closed minded people like yourself. I must be great to be so perfect.

I'm a welfare mom in a relationship. I have 3 children, yes with 3 different fathers. Before you go judging, i haven't exactly been dealt the best life. My boyfriend who I have been with for 3 years and yes is the father of my 3rd child is now in college. His ex was the type of person that would not let him have a job and after all the crap ass jobs he did have he's decided to make his life better to start a career. I stay home and take care of my kids as he does this. In september two out of my 3 kids are in school all day and then I'll be going back myself. I DID NOT purposely go out and get pregnant 3 times and I haven't always been a welfare mom. It's harsh to judge all moms on welfare like this. Some just have a rough time in life and don't have a choice.

Bratmommy -- You did not get dealt a rough life. You chose it when you chose to have unprotected sex with several "men." You made poor choices and you expect the tax payers to take care of you so you can stay home with your children. How irresponsible and selfish!!! You should not have the luxury of being a stay at home mom. I'd like to be home with my kids too, but I WORK to pay my bills & to provide for my kids. I don't expect others to do it for me.
