Was i in the right

I worked for Starbucks and had a shift last night. Ive worked their for a over a year and the incompetent management never give a shit about what I do their. Like I work over fine once and I didn’t get paid. So since they don’t care I did an experiment. I have a stsrbucks tumbler from some years ago that o bring to work with me with water in it. So when we were busyI took the tumbler and I made myself an iced coffee (adding ice ass we were closinng) and guess what? NO ONW NOTICED OR CARED, Although I feel worried and bad. I stole a Starbucks drink withought paying. Was u in the right or should I be worried

Dude I was beginning to think you pissed in your manager's drink or something. Chill. All you did was have a cup of coffee. At most places, it is completely normal that you get to treat yourself as you work. Like what? Are you supposed to work hungry??

    Relax. Nothing bad happened here.

I did something similar when I was volunteering at the local shop. I didn't get paid for anything, I hated it, and my "boss" was a total bitch. One day I took a pack of crisps, and I didn't ask or tell anyone and nobody ever found out. I think it's fine. You're not stealing from a person, but from a corporation. Who cares. They're not going to miss it.

I think the difference is that OP was actually working a real job and was supposed to be paid. You were volunteering? Why did you expect to get paid? When you signed up for non-paid volunteer work....

Well I never really wanted to do it anyway. I thought it was unfair anyway to do work for nothing. And my "boss" also punished me for coming in with abdominal pains and trying my best to do the work through pain, by saying she was going to give me a shirt, but "now she is not going to." I think I was pretty justified in "treating myself."
