I cannot tell you what true happiness is. It will mean something different to you than it does to me.

    • It's subjective then.

So the question becomes "Is true happiness attainable for me?"

Sure, why not? Happiness isn't a complicated reality. It is only as complicated as you make it.

I think it's a little pessimistic to say that true happiness is a lie. I think you can find happiness within yourself. Of course, life isn't perfect, and it never will be, but if you keep looking on the negative side of things and you keep believing that you'll never find true happiness, then you won't. Sorry to pull a Sesame Street here, but I strongly believe this.

True happiness is knowing that even when nothing's okay, it's okay.

I feel a little Tao right now.

Whereas true misery is knowing that no matter how good it is, it is never enough/it can be taken away at any time.

Everything can be taken away at any time, we are at the mercy of our planet and forces greater than us. Thus we are grateful for what we have. If you have nothing but your life, you still have much to be thankful for.

As far as it never being enough... well, that sounds a tad bit greedy if you ask me.

That was perfect! And I've got the weirdest feeling it's not a quote but, rather, you.

It sort of is. :P There was a short dialouge in I <3 Huckabees that pretty much summed up that idea. I can't remember it exactly for the life of me right now.

I so need to see that film. A girl I really liked wanted to see it with me because she said it reminded her of me.

I could see you really getting into it. It's funny, quirky, and still really deep.

It's been recommended to me so many times, I should do the decent thing and see it.

Actually, okay, I'm going to do it.

Although I'm doing this based on your Jabberwocky. I recorded (but didn't post) mine and yours was so scarily similar to mine it seemed like we may be separated at birth. Perhaps we were, but I'm going to trust your opinion on this. If it's a horrible film, you will feel my wrath. :P

Happiness is what you are left with when you trade away every ounce of intellect as far as I care to say.
