Tics while daydreaming?

Ever since I was little, I would always get tics when I got excited about something. As I got older, they started happening only when I was daydreaming. Sometimes I don’t even notice when I do it. My tics are pretty violent so often I’ll hit my arms on the wall or kick whatever’s in front of me. It’s really annoying and embarrassing so I try to do it in private. I’ve looked online for similar cases but I can’t seem to find anything to what I have. I haven’t heard of anyone else having this. Oh, and recently I’ve started having tics when I’m not daydreaming; could it be developing Tourette’s Syndrome?

This does sound like Tourette’s, but having it only whist daydreaming does make it complicated, I’m unsure what other conditions could involve muscle spasms in such specific situations, but maybe your just have Tourette’s, not something that’s developing.

I don't know what to tell you mate. Other than its not normal and definently see a doctor about this. It sounds pretty weird.

No that's not normal, I'm sorry. My sister sometimes gets random chills that cause her to kind of jerk. I don't know where it comes from.

    • It’s a sound or movement that you can’t control.
