I notice people on here do not like to answer hypotheticals. I promise I am not trying to trick anyone here I just think it would be interesting to hear from atheists and religious people. I dont want to make this a religious debate on whether or not the prophecy will come true. But if revelation prophesies come true will you accept the mark of the beast?

The mark of the beast is a number or barcode that goes on your hand or forehead. Without it you can not participate in the world economy. You will starve to death or live out in the woods.
You have no rights to grow food, or hunt, or purchase anything (no cash exists anymore). The only way to make a transaction is through the number on your hand. Would you accept the mark if this were to happen?

    Not going to lie, going off the grid and becoming a poacher in the woods sounds kind of badass in that situation.

    Realistically, if I needed to be branded by the government to do anything, I would probably start with getting a fake tattoo for the barcode and go from there. Hack everything.

    Technically speaking, the mark of the beast is the name or number of the name of the man who makes all people worship himself. It is not be bank details or other such things. The traditional Catholic theory is that the name of the man, when spelled in Greek letters, adds up to 666 when using the traditional Greek numerical system.

    Interesting scenario, I had heard of the mark of the beast but I never knew that that's what it was about. No I wouldn't get the mark. If the Christian god and heaven/hell were proven beyond doubt to exist then obviously I'd do everything I could to stay out of hell, even though I wouldn't agree with it, because I'd rather not be tortured forever. I would feel humiliated for worshipping the guy who's threatening to torture me, but I wouldn't oppose him and doom myself just for the sake of sticking by my principles.

      I dont think it will be proven beyond a doubt unfortunately. According to the bible this is until Jesus is supposed to return but hundreds of millions will die before that. Then ppl will know its the mark of the beast. Im not a biblical scholar but I'm assuming if you believe its the mark of the beast you'll be considered a conspiracy theorist weirdo by the rest.

      According to the bible there will be a one world government and one world religion. Abrahamic religions will be illegal and punishable by beheading.

        Ok, well if there's no proof that any of it is real, then it'd depend on what exactly the mark of the beast is whether I'd get it or not. If it's supposed to be a banking microchip though like you mentioned in another comment, then I definitely wouldn't get it. I don't even use my debit card for irl purchases because of privacy concerns, I'll always use cash (and I use cryptocurrency for online purchases whenever that's ever an option). The banks/governments want to do away with cash under the pretence that they're just trying to modernise and make things more convenient for everyone, but really it's because it'd make us dependent on the banks for 100% of our financial transactions, and it'd enable them to view every single thing we ever buy/sell so that they'd know if we ever spend it in ways they don't like (like donating to organisations that oppose them). So yeah, even though I wouldn't think this microchip is the mark of the beast, I'd treat it as if it were.

          Yes its all about controlling people. Thats what people in power usually like to do.

          I have recently been looking into the book of revelation and its interesting to me how when it was written it would not have made any sense to them in those times. But now with the technology alot of those prophecies are starting to make sense and seem reasonable.

          It seems like some of the prophecies could possibly be refering to nuclear bombs, microchips, internet, and computers. When it was written they wouldnt have even understood what any of this was and wouldnt have made sense to those writing it.

            I don't think the Book of Revelation does predict any of that stuff tbh, I think people are just making connections that aren't there. I would find that fun though, it'd be cool to imagine that the prophecies of an ancient mystical book could be connected to modern high technology, but I wouldn't believe in it.

      Your bank details will probably be in your hand. It sounds like it could be a microchip. You must scan your hand at a register to buy anything. There would also be cameras everywhere and facial recognition.

      The government wont want you to survive. You'll be considered the enemy of the state if you don't get the it. Its punishment for refusing it.

      In Nazi Germany the Third Reich marked every jew with a star in a similar way to what will happen if you dont get the mark.
