The first time i saw the exorcist was when i was 13

In the year of 2004 I was 13.

I had a box television in my room and I was skipping through channels when this one movie caught my eye. It was the scene where father merrin was in Iraq. I had nothing else on tv so I decided to watch the exorcist.

I actually didn't know it was the "exorcist" as I didn't see the opening title where it said "the exorcist" so I was curious to see how the movie was. Of course the ads would show up on TV and when it goes back to the film I was satisfied to know the name of the movie.

I think the scenes that shocked me the most is where Regan is flailing on her bed and then smacks the doctor across the face. The voice change, the growl had me speechless.

Also the scene where she is seen stabbing herself with the crucifix and the head spin. That was scary to be honest but my overall reaction to the film was not of fear, but just pure shock. Absolute shock.

The part where father merrin and father karras performs the exorcism is what takes me out because not only is it apparent that everything about regan changes, but her facial expression the cussing head spinning and the levitation scene.

This movie is the greatest horror movies to exist and I definitely love watching it over and over again.

Recently at some point I can actually laugh about it especially when Regan projectile vomits on karras but the movie itself is iconic.
